Today is the day we’ve all been eagerly waiting for!
Today, the Walt Disney Company officially turns 100 years old, we get to meet Moana in EPCOT, and a new attraction finally opens! We’ve painstakingly followed its progress and we got sneak peeks, but today everybody finally gets the chance to enjoy this fun, walk-through journey.
That’s right, Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana officially opens to all park guests today! No more needing to be an Annual Passholder or Disney Vacation Club member to experience this walk-through attraction.
We saw a soft opening of this attraction a few days ago, which was probably an opportunity for Disney to ensure everything was set up and prepared for the official opening day. On that day we saw a virtual queue being used, which will probably be continued, at least for a while. Now, today this attraction is open for everyone to enjoy!

You get to travel along and voyage with Moana’s friend ‘water’. Wave, say ‘hi’, and laugh along with the mischievous element. From our experience, this walk-through journey is even more special with a group!

Since this experience is so new, we do want to remind you that there are two path options through this journey, the wet and dry path. If you don’t wish to get wet but still want to enjoy the fun, then we suggest following the signs for the dry path because, on the wet path, you are SURE to get wet.
This attraction is absolutely beautiful and includes many details, some less obvious than others so be on the lookout! There is a PhotoPass location right in front of the incredible Te Fiti statue in the middle of this attraction, so a Cast Member can help you document your experience by taking your picture there.

We also think that it’s almost more amazing at night, so if you get the chance to see it when it’s all lit up under the dark sky definitely take the opportunity.
We can’t wait for everyone to finally experience this fun, interactive, and truly beautiful attraction. Now, we can all be voyagers like Moana. And speaking of Moana, don’t forget to stop by and say ‘hi’ to her as well!
