It’s safe to say that things in Hollywood are pretty complicated right now.
Due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, Hollywood is at a standstill. We’ve seen studios cancel several upcoming projects and delay productions in light of the strike, and now a new Marvel movie is the latest film to be impacted by the ongoing events.
According to Deadline, Marvel’s Deadpool 3 film will not be released on May 3rd, as was previously expected.
Sources close to Deadline believe that Marvel’s other 2024 release, Captain America: Brave New World, could premiere on May 3rd instead of Deadpool 3. The film was originally slated to debut on May 3rd but was later moved to July 26th, 2024. Disney has not commented on the status of either movie, but it’s possible Captain America could move back to its original premiere date.
In September, the Writers Guild of America (WGA), which was also on strike with SAG-AFTRA, reached a tentative agreement to end the strike. Although the actors union has been negotiating with the major studios in Hollywood, they have yet to reach an agreement. Until then, we’ll have to wait and see what happens to the 2024 production calendar.
In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
