The Walt Disney Company has gone through some major changes this year. Ever since the unexpected return of CEO Bob Iger, The Walt Disney Company has expanded and changed in several important ways.
As we approach the end of 2023, we’re keeping our eyes out for news on a few topics. For example, we’re waiting for some news on key Disney World projects, and we’re hoping to learn more about Disney’s plans to purchase Comcast’s stake in Hulu. 2023 may be coming to an end, but The Walt Disney Company still has a lot to do before the end of the year! It seems like the perfect time for Disney to share a few key updates, and we might just learn more during Bob Iger’s upcoming Town Hall meeting.
Earlier this month, Disney announced that Iger is focusing on four key priorities for The Walt Disney Company.
Specifically, Iger wants to achieve significant and sustained profitability in the streaming business, improve the output and economics of Disney film studios, turbocharge growth in the Experiences business, and build ESPN into the preeminent digital sports platform. Given the company’s reported successes (and shortcomings) during the fourth quarter earnings call, it seems like Bob Iger is feeling optimistic about Disney’s future.
With that in mind, we’re reaching the time of year when Disney needs to give its shareholders and Cast Members an update on future plans. According to Scott Gustin on Twitter, Disney CEO Bob Iger will host a virtual “Town Hall” with employees and Cast Members. The Town Hall meeting is set for November 28th, 2023 — the same date Iger held his first Town Hall one year ago after returning as CEO.
Iger will be accompanied by several other Disney creatives and executives, including Alan Bergman, Josh D’Amaro, Jimmy Pitaro, and Dana Walden. Iger will discuss the company’s “recent achievements and future building opportunities.” David Muir is set to moderate the Town Hall event.
At this time, Disney hasn’t noted if any news will come from this meeting, but we’ll keep you updated if we learn anything new. To learn more about The Walt Disney Company’s plans for the future, check out these posts:
