It’s time to open up the gates!

Today, November 20th, 2023, marks the official opening day of World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland! Let’s see what this new land means to the Disney theme parks.

10 years after the first Frozen movie premiered, we can finally be transported into the kingdom of Arendelle in the first-ever Frozen-themed land!

The company is pleased to present this new land during the 100th Anniversary celebration and continue Walt’s journey. Josh D’Amar, Chairman of Disney Experiences, said, “Our theme parks always grow and evolve with new stories and experiences, and it is exciting to make all these new worlds come to life for our guests. As Walt Disney said, ‘Disneyland will never be completed as long as there is imagination left in the world.’ At Disney Experiences, the possibilities are endless.”

According to D’Amaro, World of Frozen is the “largest and boldest” expansion in Hong Kong Disneyland since its opening in 2005. It is an immersive storytelling experience for all who visit. Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, noted that he is “thrilled to see how the kingdom of Arendelle in  Frozen has come to real life. Visitors to Hong Kong Disneyland can now physically immerse themselves in scenes once only featured in animation.”

Disney explained that imagineers have worked on this “one-of-a-kind experience” for the past 7 years by immersing themselves into the movie’s scenes and character backstories. “World of Frozen is an incredibly thoughtful, uniquely Disney destination where storytelling, innovation, and creativity come together to create the ultimate immersive experience that celebrates a global phenomenon,” said D’Amaro.

Being in Arendelle is AMAZING

When you visit, you can experience two different areas–Arendelle Village and the Forest of Arendelle– where you can experience rides, characters, great food, and so much magic. You genuinely feel like you’ve become part of the movie as you are immersed into the “living land.”

And be on the lookout for many easter eggs around the land. For example, you can spot a hidden Bruni on Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs.

The all-new World of Frozen is a wonderful experience for all to enjoy. Lovers of the films will find themselves part of the stories and fully immersed in the magic. It’s a fun time for people of all ages!
