The Halloween season rolls on through October at the Magic Kingdom, culminating in the holiday itself, with the Christmas season right around the corner, all leading to some big changes to Disney World’s original theme parks.
The month sees the end of one seasonal event, gets ready to transform into another, and race weekend crowds all combining to affect the Magic Kingdom’s offerings and operating hours.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is one of Disney World’s most popular seasonal events, as the spooky spectacular’s offerings of candy, treats, and Halloween-themed characters, entertainment, and theming have all become fall traditions for many. The event even allows guests over 13 to wear a costume (as long as they follow the rules) inside the Magic Kingdom, a treat that’s usually reserved for guests 13 and under during Disney’s normal operating rules.
October 2026 will see the event presented on the following days: October 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 9th, 13th, 15th, 16th, 18th, 22nd, 23rd, 25th, 27th, 29th, and of course Halloween itself, the 31st. However, guests without party tickets on those days must remember that the park will be closing to non-party guests at 6 PM, though they’ll still be able to enjoy the many Halloween decorations that will be up in the park during the month.

Keep an Eye Out for Christmas
While the Halloween season and party dates run all the way until October 31st, elements of the Christmas season will begin sneaking in certain places as the month comes to an end, before the bulk of decorations goes up just after Halloween, so keep an eye out for the encroaching holiday Season.

Diamond Horseshoe Changes
During the Cool KIDS’ Summer promotion — which ended in September — Disney brought live entertainment back to the Diamond Horseshoe for the first time in decades with a Jessie-themed Toy Story show. Disney is changing the restaurant yet again. Beginning October 4th, The Diamond Horseshoe is transforming into a limited-time pop-up experience. Reservations for the pop-up will open on September 29th, and we’re sure it’s going to be an extremely popular spot!
The new menu recently dropped for the pop-up, and these were some of the items we were most excited about:
- Charcuterie: Cured beef, candied bacon, smoked pork, green chile cheese, smoked cheddar, and pickles
- Glazed Sticky Ribs with cowboy beans and jalapeño crisps
- Queso Fundido with Barbecue Burnt Ends with warm tortilla chips
- Sweet Golden Corn Fritters with cilantro ranch dressing and red chili honey
- Chipotle Chicken Tostada with queso fresco, lime crema, and pickled cactus salsa
- Mini Hot Dog Platter: Wrapped in pastry, served with tortilla chips and a side of queso
You can pair those menu items with a cocktail:
- Whinnyin’ Whiskey Lemonade: Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Aperol liqueur, strawberry purée, Minute Maid Premium Lemonade, and basil
- Cactus Rose Margarita: LALO Blanco Tequila, prickly pear, lime, and agave
- High Plains Huckleberry: 44° North Mountain Huckleberry Vodka, crème de cassis liqueur, lemon juice, and cranberry
- Rattler Rum Punch: Bacardí Superior Rum, orange, pineapple, lime, and passion fruit, garnished with a sweet-and-spicy rim
- Coal’d Fashioned: Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Mr. Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur, cinnamon syrup, orange bitters, and Angostura bitters
- Seasonal Cocktail: In Holiday Fashion: Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon, rosemary syrup, cranberry, and cinnamon
