Y’all THE TIME HAS COME!
If you hate crunching-in-your-ear as much as a LOT of us do, Doritos has just done THE MOST. (Bow down to the tortilla chip gods.) They’ve partnered with a tech developer to find a SOLUTION, especially for gamers everywhere.
Crunching while you’re gaming or on a Zoom call should be illegal. Sadly, it’s not. But, according to the Washington Post on Instagram, Doritos (which were invented in Disneyland! Keep reading to learn more.) has now solved this problem.
Doritos has created Doritos Silent– a chip-chomping silencing software that works with your PC. It removes the sound of your crunching while using a headset. It can be used with Zoom calls or anything that can use headphones. However, it was really created with gamers in mind.
(Also did they really put a chip in that person’s ear for this picture or is that photoshopped?)
Dylan Fashbaugh, lead developer at Smooth Technology, which worked with Doritos to create this new, free app said, “It works on anything that accepts a microphone.”
You’ll be able to snack away, crunching loudly (again, should be illegal, but nobody listens to us), and no one will hear or be annoyed by the sounds in their ear. The app launched early in November and can currently be used with any PC. It will likely expand to other devices in the future. PRAISE CHEEZITS!
Now, for a brief history lesson that ties this ALL into Disney (even though we’re perfectly happy to spread the word about this app for the good of all mankind, we’re also always ready to tie it back to Disney): DID YOU KNOW Doritos were actually invented in Disneyland! Rumor has it that a salesman from a local vendor, Alex’s Food, saw someone throwing away stale tortillas. He suggested to the chef of Casa de Fritos (RIP) that they fry them up to make chips to sell. The snacks turned out to be very popular which led to a Frito-Lay marketing executive working on commercializing them, giving us the chips we all love today!
You’re welcome for all of this life-changing news.
