The Mobile Order Hack You Can’t Use Right Now in Disney World

You’ve heard us rave about it before, and you’ll hear us rave about it again — Mobile Ordering in Disney World.

Sure, the My Disney Experience app has its flaws (quite a few of them actually), but one of our favorite features that it offers is Mobile Order! No need to wait in long lines at quick service restaurants when you order ahead. Sometimes Mobile Order can be frustrating when the parks are particularly busy and it gets backed up, but this week, we ran into an entirely different problem.

We stopped by Contempo Cafe to order some breakfast earlier this week, and Mobile Ordering wasn’t available at the restaurant! When we tried to place our order through the app, we were given a “temporarily unavailable” message.

It wasn’t working!

We got in line to order at the counter instead, and when we spoke to a Cast Member, they told us that Contempo Cafe had been closing Mobile Orders in the mornings during the busy season of the year. This prevents anyone from parking at the Contemporary Resort with the excuse of a Mobile Order for breakfast. Parking becomes particularly valuable during the holiday season with so many guests at the hotel.

So if you’re staying at the resort or hotel hopping around Disney World, you may find Mobile Order unavailable from time to time. When we’ve checked, it seems to be working as usual during lunch and dinner hours, but that’s not guaranteed.

Keep in mind that parking will likely be limited at the Disney Resorts during the next few weeks. They’ll need to prioritize spaces for those with resort reservations and dining reservations, so if you’re just stopping by for a visit, it’s best to take transportation over from one of the theme parks or Disney Springs.
