Are you planning a trip to Disney World? Well, if you are, we’ve got some great news to share with you.
So you’ve probably already figured out where you’re staying, and you’ve probably already purchased your park tickets. But how are you getting to Orlando? If you’re planning on flying into Orlando International Airport, now may be the BEST time to book those flights because, right now, airfare is the lowest it’s been in a LONG time.
According to CNN, the price of plane tickets is currently the lowest it’s been in 15 years!
According to CNN Travel expert Katy Nastro, average airfare is nearly 25% less than it was in 2019 and “hasn’t been this cheap since 2009.” Just WHOA. If that isn’t the universe telling you to book that trip, we don’t know what it is!
But why is airfare so cheap? Well, this is the first “normal” year of travel since 2020. However, the biggest factor keeping prices low is competition. Nastro said, “We want (budget) carriers in the mix because it actually places downward pressure on the legacy carriers.” This helps keep prices lower. Perhaps that means it’s a good thing that the JetBlue and Spirit Airlines merger was blocked by a federal judge.
We’ve recently seen some super low fares. At the moment, you can score a flight on Southwest Airlines for as little as $39 each way. No, that is not a typo — $39!!!
American Airlines also currently has a “Flights under $100” category with flights to Orlando for just $90.
Low-fare flights are available on Spirit Airlines right now for as little as $21 each way. Note that all these airlines except Southwest charge additional fees for things like seat selection and checked bags. But still, these low airfare prices are a good incentive to book that next Disney World trip, right?
