Disney Vacation Club (DVC) is a very elusive and exclusive bunch… or so a lot of folks think!

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
DVC is Disney’s version of a timeshare, where you can pay for points that you can save up and eventually exchange for a stay in one of Disney’s hotels. A common misconception is that the DVC program is inaccessible for regular folks like you and me — because those dollar signs can be quite daunting at first. Well, we’re here to bust some myths and misconceptions regarding the DVC, because becoming a member or utilizing the DVC hotel rooms is a lot easier than you might think.
Hold on, because these secrets may just change the way you vacation at Disney World!

You CAN’T Book DVC Villas!
Many people think that the Villas at DVC resorts such as the Riviera, Bay Lake Tower, and Animal Kingdom Lodge: Kidani Village cannot be booked by those who are not a part of the Disney Vacation Club!

Riviera Resort
This is not true! Anyone can book at the Vacation Club resorts and book the big villas if you want to! Say goodbye to worrying about fitting your family into a 2-bed standard room when now you know you can book the villas!

So go on, relish in this new knowledge!
You Can’t RENT DVC Points!
You don’t just have to book your stays directly through the Disney World Website, you can rent points from members!

Wilderness Lodge
There are various ways to rent points from members through different rental sites where members put their points up for rent and there you’re able to book those vacations.
You Have To Buy Direct
Have you ever wanted to be a DVC member but thought it may be too expensive? Well we have a solution for you!

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
You can purchase DVC contracts from resale companies or from Disney itself! These contracts are those that may be expiring sooner or were bought back by Disney, making them cheaper.

It is important to note that not buying contracts direct from Disney may result in a lack of Disney Vacation Club benefits.
You Are Limited By Use Period
This is a myth! When owning a Disney Vacation Club contract, you have a use year with a month that just tells you when your points renew. You can travel at any time, points permitting.

Your contract is points based, meaning you buy a specific amount of points to use throughout the year at any time as long as there are reservations available. There exists a booking window depending on what resort you call home but you are not limited by any sort of use periods and can travel any time throughout the year!
