On the hunt for the PERFECT Disney World souvenir? You and thousands of other visitors!
It can be such a challenge to know what to spend your souvenir money on when you finally make it to the parks, and if you’re visiting with a limited budget, the is particularly stressful. You could go with classics like Minnie ears, Loungefly backpacks, Spirit Jerseys, or mugs, but why not choose something a bit more unique? We’re here to tell you about the PERFECT Disney World souvenir.
Have you ever had a silhouette made in Disney World? This classic souvenir has been around for decades, but it often gets overlooked as an option.
Over the years, we’ve seen people get silhouettes made of their family, friends, children, and even their pets! You either need to be present for the portrait session or have a photo of the person (or pet) who you’d like a silhouette made of.
These incredible artists will cut the silhouettes freehand using just a pair of scissors. It’s an incredibly difficult skill to master, and it’s such a unique keepsake to have from your vacation. We’ve even seen Disney offer seasonal silhouettes in the past!
Prices for an individual silhouette start at $14, and there are several places you can get one done in Disney World. Magic Kingdom has two locations — one on Center Street (off of Main Street, U.S.A. right outside the Crystal Arts shop) and one in Liberty Square. You can get a silhouette portrait for $14 or a pet silhouette for $18. Disney also offers oval frames for $13.95. Keep in mind that those prices are excluding tax.
There are also silhouette stands in Disney Springs in The Marketplace area and at EPCOT in the France Pavilion. In Disneyland, the Silhouette Studio is located on Main Street, U.S.A. This original Disney location opened just one day after the park did, back in 1955.
So the next time you’re searching for a unique souvenir, try getting a silhouette made! They’re definitely on the less expensive end for Disney keepsakes, and they’re a great way to capture a memory from your trip.

I love the handmade things. Disney probably hires the best artists to make them. And the one on the picture seems so happy doing it.

It’s so great learning about ‘new’ experiences in your blog – DFB is truly one of the best Disney news sites around. IMO you are the best all-around blog, even if the self-proclaimed central focus is food (nothing wrong with that!). We’ve been going to WDW since it opened, and I so appreciate learning (and being reminded about) the big deals and the easy-to-miss-or-forget. Silhouettes are going on the next trip list!

My Mom, aunt and I spent a week in Disney World in 1980. We all had silhouettes made for us and bought the oval frames. 44 years later, we still have them on the wall and enjoy them. Keeps the memories of a really fun trip alive.

I have the one my parents had made of me when I was 4 in 1973, and we had our boys done as a double several years ago.

This is certainly a great souvenir. We have these on the wall in our bedroom. One of our two children dated 1989. Yikes!!! And a variety of the grandchildren dated 2003, 2008, and 2010. They are a great keepsake.
Thinking about doing one of my husband and myself when we come in September. This was a good reminder of souvenir. Thanks. 😊

My husband and I have done this. We love the result. We went “live” during our sittings for our “Take You With Us” section of our show. The artist was so talented and we had an enlightening conversation with him. The video got a great number of views and the reviews were in awe of the silhouette of us. It’s a shame that most people will never notice this little off street wagon where you can get the best souvenir take away from WDW, yourselves.

These make the best Mother’s Day gifts! I requested one many years ago, when they were only about $5 each. Love them!
