We can’t be the only ones who have dreamed of driving our own boat around the Magic Kingdom, right? Taking in the views and feeling the breeze in our hair!
Well, we have good news if you have ever had a similar dream. You can make those dreams a reality and drive a pontoon boat around Disney World.
Disney World offers motorized boat rentals at multiple marina locations. Grab your favorite 10 people (or less) and head to one of the marinas to rent your pontoon boat. You can enjoy theme park views and the natural beauty of Florida while cruising through the lakes and lagoons of Disney World.
No reservations are required, and the rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis. You can rent a Sun Tracker® Pontoon boat, which seats up to 10 Guests, for $49 per half-hour.
That’s right, if you and your nine closest friends (or acquaintances, or enemies, or strangers…) get together and rent a boat, you can have 30 minutes of cruising time for only $4.90 per person. A whole HOUR would only be $9.80 per person. While there will be taxes and fees involved, too, I still think that is a pretty good deal!
Drivers will need to be at least 18 years old, and present a valid driver’s license, state-issued ID or Military ID. You can currently rent a pontoon boat from the following marina locations:
- Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- Disney’s Beach Club Resort
- Disney’s Beach Club Villas
- Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
- The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
We do want to point out that since a reservation is not required, you could find a bit of difficulty parking at the resort during busy times. The security at the hotel may require guests to have a dining or recreation reservation in order to park at the hotel. If you are interested in renting a boat, and are not staying at the hotel, you can always utilize Disney transportation to get to the hotel.
Wondering which hotel might be the best fit for you? Well, do we have just the video for you! We ranked EVERY Disney World hotel and compiled it into this video:
