Well, not really. Having a magical day is everything in the parks, but to do that, it often feels like you need all the time in the world that you don’t have. We’re all for saving time around the parks, which is why we help tell you what lines are too long to wait in and when you should come back later, or when buying Genie+ may be the only way to accomplish everything you want to (as painful as that truth is). However, there’s a huge time saver many people have no idea about, and it doesn’t cost you ANYTHING extra!
If you’re a big fan of shopping around for the different merchandise you can find in the Disney parks (which we totally are, hello!), you know that lines can get VERY long at certain points of the day. If you see a piece of merchandise you really love, sometimes we say to grab it so you know it won’t be gone later, but that means waiting in a long line.
Merchandise Crowds
EXCEPT at some merchandise locations, it doesn’t! You can use Mobile Checkout, which started rolling out in Disney World a few years ago. To use, you’ll open the My Disney Experience App, search for the store you’re in, scan the item(s) you’re buying on your phone, and then check out in the app. Then, head to one of the Mobile Checkout stands in the store, show them your screen as proof of your purchase, and you’re good to go!

The stores currently participating in Mobile Checkout are:
- Emporium (Magic Kingdom)
- Star Traders (Magic Kingdom)
- Tomorrowland Launch Depot (Magic Kingdom)
- Creations Shop (EPCOT)
- Treasures of Xandar (EPCOT)
- Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities (Disney’s Hollywood Studios)
- Mickey’s of Hollywood (Disney’s Hollywood Studios)
- Discovery Trading Company (Disney’s Animal Kingdom)
- Island Mercantile (Disney’s Animal Kingdom)
- Super Hero Headquarters (Disney Springs)
- World of Disney (Disney Springs)
Mobile Checkout
Credit cards, debit cards, Disney gift cards (linked to your account), Apple Pay, and Disney Rewards Redemption Cards are accepted with Mobile Checkout, but if you want to pay with cash, you will need to head to one of the manned cash registers.

Hi Sandy! Unfortunately you can not load Disney Gift Cards into the app. You can only load debit and credit cards.
