Have you made your Park Pass Reservations for your next Disney World trip?
If you’re heading to the parks with date-based tickets, you won’t need to reserve your dates in advance, but select groups are still required to make Park Passes. Among those groups are Disney World Annual Passholders, and if you’re a Passholder heading to the parks soon, we’ve got a warning for you!
When we first checked Disney Park Pass availability on the morning of Tuesday, August 20th, Park Passes were completely sold out for Annual Passholders on August 24th at Animal Kingdom specifically. This was a particularly odd occurrence, because Animal Kingdom typically isn’t the first or second park to “fill up” for the day.
Later in the day, we checked the calendar again, and there was once again availability for that date in Animal Kingdom. Keep in mind that availability can change throughout the day and especially throughout the week leading up to the date you want to visit, so it’s important to keep checking back. If you’re hoping to head to Animal Kingdom on August 24th, you may want to go ahead and book those passes now.
However, if a day is filled up for a specific park and you still want to stop by, there might be a way for you to go! For Annual Passholders, Park Passes aren’t required if you want to visit the parks after 2PM (excluding Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays), so you could just wait and pop into Animal Kingdom in the afternoon if it fills up again.
The other option is to make a Disney Park Pass reservation for a different park and then to immediately Park Hop to your desired location. This can take extra time with travel between the parks, and you’ll have to physically scan in at the first park before going to the second, but it’s a trick that works if your second park isn’t “at capacity” for the day.
Ultimately, our best advice for those who find their date is booked up is that you should keep checking availability leading up to your trip. Refresh the screen, try booking your Park Passes one at a time, and check on multiple days. Often, this is how we score those hard-to-get passes!
We’ll keep you in the loop with any more Annual Passholder news, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest!
