Construction walls have officially gone up in DinoLand U.S.A. at Animal Kingdom.

The first construction walls are up
The first round of closures started on January 13th, 2025 to make way for the brand-new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. The closures consisted of TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and the Fossil Fun games.
We can’t believe the time has finally come to say goodbye. Three major parts of DinoLand U.S.A. operated for the last time yesterday. Today, January 13th, 2025, we spotted the first construction walls up as the land begins to change.

Construction walls around Fossil Fun games.
DinoLand U.S.A. has been a staple in Animal Kingdom since the park opened in 1998. The story of the land is that an amateur fossil hunter discovered authentic dinosaur bones in this small town which led to many scientists and archeologists moving to continue the search for more bones.

Many plants walls!
Once the land began to grow, Chester and Hester, two locals, decided to cash in on all of the new residents by opening their own carnival and roadside games.

More walls around TriceraTop Spin
TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun games were the first to go from this land with Dinosaur, Restaurantosaurs, and the snack stands following later this year or early next year.

While we are excited about the changes, we won’t deny that this made us pretty sad today. Disney had a good reminder for us posted on some of the construction walls. On one of the walls, you can read, “Change is good” with Rafiki on top.

Change is good.
In all honesty, this made us shed a few tears because change is good but also hard sometimes.

More construction
Inside the new land, you can expect to find the new Indiana Jones attraction, an Encanto attraction, a new carousel, food stops, and more. Disney has released several pieces of concept art to give us an idea of what to expect inside the new land.

So today we will check out these huge changes while mourning what’s gone and enjoying Dinosaur while it’s still around. Disney has shared that guests will need to head back in time to help that Dino while they can in 2025. Don’t forget to keep following DFB for more of your Disney news and updates.

Looks like hedges on wheels. They use them for repairing sidewalks. I imagine people will not be allowed near that area when the huge green dinosaur comes down.
