Disney World rolled out Lightning Lane Premier Pass on October 30th, 2024, as a piloted program they are currently testing.
It was first launched as only available to anyone staying at a Disney World Deluxe Resort, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts, and Shades of Green. Then it became available to all other Disney World Resort guests, and now it will become available to ALL Disney World guests soon!
Starting on January 21st, anyone visiting Disney World will be able to purchase the Lightning Lane Premier Pass. Those who are staying at the Disney World hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts, and Shades of Green will be able to purchase it up to 7 days in advance of their hotel stay, whereas everyone else not staying at a Disney World hotel or the select others will be able to purchase it up to 3 days in advance of their visit.
The Disney World website still shares that the Premier Pass is being piloted, so changes may continue. This Lightning Lane pass can be purchased for one park per day of your visit. It gets you access to every ride with Lightning Lane at the park you purchased one time on the day purchased for. It includes all Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass rides. Unlike Multi Pass and Single Pass, you do not have to make Lightning Lane reservations with Premier Pass. Once you have purchased it, you can simply show up at the rides.
Pricing for Lightning Lane Premier Pass varies by park and by day, varying between $119 and $400. It also includes digital downloads for select rides.

We purchased the premier Lighting Lane pass at Disneyland Anaheim Ca. It was awesome, for us there was one reason and one reason only and that was to save a lot of wear and tear on our feet and legs. With the regular Lighting Lane pass you would book a ride at Space Mountain and once you were on the ride you could book another one but that might be on the other side of the park at the Ride of the Residence. And this scenario when go on all day. With the Premier Pass you could stay in the area you were at and ride all the rides there and go over to another part of the park. It was well worth the cost of $299 dollars!
I wonder why Disney keeps dis-incentivizing people staying at the Disney hotels? Why would I pay the high price of staying at a Deluxe resort (to have the only real bonus of after hours to be extended to all parks guest) and have no benefit to it. It’s almost like Disney doesn’t actually want you to stay at their hotels
With Disney it’s always Money, Money, Money
I long for the days of FastPass+
Ha! This makes me think that during regular days, this isn’t selling much. We don’t feel there are enough perks anymore to stay at ANY Disney resort….and before Covid, that’s the only place we stayed when we went to Disney! Those were the good old days! Could make our dining and fast pass reservations way ahead, got our free magic bands in the mail, a free refillable mug when we arrived at our resort, packages were delivered to our resort when we shopped in the parks, extra magic hours, and most of all, a good feeling that Disney cared about us.
EXACTLY what Dottyanna said! 👆👆👆
“now it will become available to ALL Disney World guests soon!”

I guess not enough people were paying this ridiculous price, so they expanded the base.
