The Walt Disney Imagineering team is sharing some secrets!

All-Star Movies
Thanks to the Imagineering team we have some exciting things coming to the Disney parks like the new Monsters Inc. Land, the Muppets taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and new shows! They also have a hand in each Disney resort hotel and now they’re giving us some behind-the-scenes info on the latest refurbishment.
All-Star Movies is one of Disney World’s value resorts themed to iconic Disney films! It’s part of the All Stars collection and brings major Disney nostalgia thanks to the over-the-top Disney theme which we are big fans of.

This resort recently had a months-long refurbishment that revamped the food court and added even more movie-theming to the resort! It also added the new Rialto Coffee and Ice Cream counter which was a welcome addition.

The new theming features Mickey, Minnie, and all of their friends becoming the leading stars of several famous movies. Over on Instagram, Walt Disney Imagineering gave us some behind-the-scenes secrets detailing why they chose certain details for the retheme and to introduce us to some of the team members behind the project.

The Instagram post highlights four of the team members including the senior concept artist, assistant producer, interior designer, and graphic fabrication designer! Lon, the senior concept artist, showed off The Love Bugs poster because The Love Bug was a favorite movie of his when he was a kid and he added little lovebugs because you can spot real ones in Florida! How fun is that?

For Kylie, the assistant producer, she added the fun wordplay to switch up the Jungle Cruise poster! The poster references the movie starring Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson but the actual movie references the theme park attraction which you can see in the Bungle Cruise poster Kylie created.

Our favorite of these posters was created by Brandon who works on interior design! For those who don’t know, the Princess Dairies is based on The Princess Diaries starring Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews who have been replaced by Clarabelle Cow and Minnie Mouse. They switched up the original movie poster to include “She Rocks. She Moos. She Reigns.”

Finally, they gave us some insight into the signs and flooring of the actual quick service itself. Patrick, a graphic fabrication designer, referenced old movie theater design aesthetics when working on the food stations!

They also noted the new floor is inspired by film strips which we loved because there really is detail in everything. World Premiere Food Court needed a bit of TLC (tender love and care) and we loved that we got to see a bit of each Imagineer in the design choices.
