Flying is almost constantly changing, which can make things confusing, but don’t worry, we’re here to help!
Some big changes are coming to TSA, and while they’re about to make all our lives easier when traveling, it’s going to take some getting used to. The 3.4 ounce liquid rule could be on the chopping block, BUT it’s official now that at most airports, you no longer have to take your shoes off. However, we’re already seeing this is causing some BIG issues rather than solving them.
We recently flew through St. Louis Lambert Airport on our way back to Orlando and were pleasantly surprised to find that we didn’t have to take our shoes off. The problem? Everyone else thought they did, and that slowed down the line BIG TIME.
Now, we don’t blame these people at all. We’ve all been to airports where the rules change not only from airport to airport, but also from lane to lane within the same airport, and it’s incredibly confusing. Now that the TSA is changing its overall rules, it’s difficult to determine which rules are staying around at specific airports and which are being modified.
For example, at this specific airport, Terminal 2 still has the old-style scanning equipment, where you have to remove your liquids and laptops, and your shoes may still need to be removed. Technology isn’t being rolled out evenly from airport to airport (or again, from terminal to terminal), so expect things to be a little rough for a few months as things even out.
