Did Universal Just Quietly REVEAL the Name of Its NEW Theme Park?

Universal may have just picked out the name of its new park planned for the United Kingdom. Let’s take a look at the details!

According to the BBC, Universal has registered a trademark that could be the name of its planned UK theme park. Universal recently filed an application with the Intellectual Property Office for “Universal United Kingdom Resort” on September 8th, 2025.

Universal Orlando

When approached by the BBC, Universal declined to comment on the subject. This becoming the new name would make sense, as it aligns with Universal naming its other parks after the location it’s in — like Universal Orlando Resort or Universal Beijing Resort.

Universal Studios Florida

In the trademark application, Universal said the name was tied to amusement park services and hotels. The trademark can also be used on various merchandise items, including books, bags, clothing, toys, and more.

Universal announced some exciting updates about its upcoming park in the United Kingdom earlier this year! It would be in Kempston Hardwick, near Bedford. Universal hasn’t gotten official approval from the government to proceed with its proposed theme park yet.

The firm is expected to create 8,050 jobs when the park opens, which has an intended date of 2031. That figure could rise up to 12,465 jobs by 2051 — which would factor in roles in accommodation such as hotels. The construction of the park would also provide a job boost, with a peak of 5,380 workers expected on site.

The park is said to be a “world-class theme park with several themed lands, visitor accommodation, as well as a range of retail, dining, and entertainment uses.” This might sound like every theme park we’ve seen, but it will also be one of the largest employers in the region, and they continuously call it “the entertainment resort complex.”
