There are those of us out there who can paint, and then there are those of us out there who can’t draw a stick figure well (I’m the second one). However, no matter where your level of artistry falls, there’s one opportunity at EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts that EVERYONE can take part in to create something amazing!
There’s so much wonderful artwork to look at throughout this whole festival, not to mention incredible live performances, but there’s also a piece of artwork YOU can join in on too — it’s the Paint-By-Numbers Mural!
This interactive exhibit is located in the Expression Section, which is located between World Showcase and the Imagination! Pavilion. It’s open from 11 AM to 5 PM each day, and everyone can participate completely for free!
When you arrive at the station, you may wait in a short line (it’s pretty popular!), but once you get to the Cast Member at the front, you’ll get a small container of paint with a number on top and a brush, and you will be told to head to a certain section. You’ll then paint five squares that are the number you were assigned! For example, if you were given the color yellow with a 4 on top, you’ll paint five squares that say “4” with your paint!
You’re all working together to create a beautiful mural, and while it seems massive, you’ll be surprised at how quickly the picture begins to form. Want to see what the final product will look like? Fun fact: You can pick up a bookmark that has artwork of the final product on it!
EPCOT will also swap in new murals, depending on how fast they’re filled in, so if you come back a few weeks later, you may notice a new one being created.
