Disney just won five new awards! The Blooloop Innovation Awards are an annual awards program that celebrates creativity and technology in the visitor attractions industry. They recognize innovations in theme parks, museums, cruises, and other immersive experiences.
Walt Disney Imagineering and Disney Live Entertainment just won five Blooloop Innovation Awards in five different areas. And the winners are… (drumroll please!)
Disney’s Tale of Moana won third place in the storytelling category. This award judges entries based on the translation of a story into an immersive experience. The Disney Treasure show follows Moana’s epic journey on stage for the first time.
Pixar Adventurous Journey at Shanghai Disneyland took third place for immersive experiences. It’s a narrative-driven walk-through attraction that brings your favorite Pixar films to life – Inside Out, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, Turning Red, Coco, Up, and Soul.
Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point won third place in sustainability. Disney Cruise Line’s new private island was carefully designed to protect sand and ocean ecosystems while using all-natural materials.
Walt Disney – A Magical Life won second place in the Immersive Attraction category. This award goes to attractions with an innovative use of technology. The show features an Audio-Animatronic of Walt Disney, which is Disney’s most lifelike figure ever created.
And for first place, the Haunted Mansion Parlor brought home gold in the retail and dining category. It’s a bar and lounge on the Disney Destiny themed after the Haunted Mansion ride. It’s a fully immersive experience with regular seances and apparitions, plus some tasty drinks!
We’re so excited that Walt Disney Imagineering and Disney Live Entertainment are being awarded for their hard work. These are some of our favorite new attractions of this year! Follow Disney Food Blog for more Disney news!
