Many airlines have continued to struggle, even now, almost six years after the pandemic. Spirit Airlines has been busy cutting flights from cities, and American Airlines has announced it would stop service at several cities. Well, budget airline Frontier Airlines is now following suit.
According to The Points Guy, Frontier Airlines is cutting service from a total of 10 cities to slow its growth and bring in more profit.
The discount airline has already ended or will soon end service to 10 cities and has plans to slow its growth to around 10% annually through 2030. Here is the full list of airports Frontier has already ended service at or will end service at soon:
- Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport (BTV) in Vermont — ended November 2025
- Charleston International Airport (CHS) — ends May 2026
- Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB) in Wisconsin — ended August 2025
- Harrisburg International Airport (MDT) in Pennsylvania — ends April 2026
- Missoula Montana Airport (MSO) — ended December 2025
- Portland International Jetport (PWM) in Maine — ended August 2025
- Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) — ended October 2025
- Cyril E. King Airport (STT) on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands — ended August 2025
- Henry E. Rohlsen Airport (STX) on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands — ended August 2025
- Tulsa International Airport (TUL) — ends May 2026
According to a Frontier spokesperson, these cities were dropped “based on demand and broader market dynamics.” Frontier recently reported a net loss of $137 million in 2025. The airline revealed plans to shrink its fleet by returning 24 Airbus planes to the company they’re being leased from. Then the company plans on focusing on increasing flights with its existing planes. Frontier also delayed the deliveries of 69 new planes over the next three years…those deliveries are now set to begin in 2030 or later.
