We can’t tell you how many times we’ve been in Magic Kingdom only to find that we’re missing some essentials, or we see that guests around us are deeply regretting not having one thing or another with them.
We’re in Disney World every day, not to mention the members of our team who don’t live locally, write about the parks each day, but yes, we still make mistakes when it comes to packing! I reached out to members of the team and asked them to tell me some things that they make sure they ALWAYS bring to Magic Kingdom, and added in some of my own as well, so without further ado, here’s the ULTIMATE list of what you should pack in your bag to be prepared for the day!
Hand Sanitizer
Let’s be real here — Disney World is FULL of germs…like, FULL of germs. Personally, I don’t head to the parks without hand sanitizer of SOME kind, and one of our favorites is the Touchland & Disney Special Edition Hand Sanitizer + Mist Case! It’s cute and themed to Disney, yes, but even better than that, it clips to your bag super easily. We’re all for convenience over here!
A Way To Keep Cool
Summer is fast approaching, and that means so is the summer heat. We highly recommend snagging yourself the JISULIFE 3 IN 1 Handheld Mini Fan for numerous reasons. Not only is it small and compact, making it easy to put into a pocket or a bag, but it also works as a flashlight AND a portable charger! Talk about saving your butt when you either cannot see in the dark, or your phone is dying, and you need that photo of your kiddo with Mickey.
A Reliable Water Bottle
We’ve talked many times before about how much we love our Owala water bottles, and we’ll never stop shouting about them, because hey, they’re durable, they keep your drinks cold even on the hottest days, and they’re slim enough to easily fit in most bags. However, we do have a caveat here, specifically for Magic Kingdom — the water in this park is GROSS, even getting it from quick service restaurants. It’s safe, but there’s just this swampy taste that’s worse than other parks, so while we usually advise against spending money on bottled water, if you’re extra sensitive to the taste, some members of our team recommend buying bottled water and then just pouring it into your Owala.
Sunscreen
Staying protected against the sun is another GREAT way to keep yourself comfortable on your trip — there’s nothing worse than getting sunburnt on day two and being in pain for the rest of your trip. Personally, we love the Shiseido Clear Sunscreen Stick, because sticks are often way easier to apply, especially if you’ve got littles you’re traveling with (or if you’re uncoordinated, like me).
Avoid The Downpours
Hey, so it rains A LOT in Disney World, especially during the summer months and hurricane season, so you need something to protect yourself from those, without having to hide underneath something for an hour. That’s where the FROGG TOGGS Poncho comes in! Personally, I bring this with me on EVERY trip, and it has yet to let me down. It’s durable, water literally runs right off of it, and it’s fairly easy to put back in its carrying case so it doesn’t get water on anything else.
A Portable Charger
You’ve heard us say how important portable chargers are approximately 47,000 times, but that’s because it’s TRUE! Getting caught in Magic Kingdom, arguably the most iconic Disney World park, with a dead phone, feels like the end of the world sometimes. Avoid the struggle completely with a FuelRod, because not only is it a pretty solid portable charger, but there are FuelRod stations all over the parks that you can swap dead ones out with fully charged ones at NO additional cost. That peace of mind is invaluable!
The Right Shoes
Nothing is worse than being on day one or two of your trip and your feet hurting SO bad you can barely enjoy walking around the parks. That’s why it’s so important to get the right shoes for your trip, and one of our favorites is the Hoka Clifton 10 Shoes. HOKA shoes, in general, are very popular for Disney World trips due to how comfortable and durable they are. We know many Cast Members who say these are the only shoes they wear for their shifts due to how well they hold up.
