Dream a fantastic dream!
If you hear that and instantly think of one of the best shows at Disney World, then you probably want to hear about this update before you head to the amphitheater with a bucket of popcorn.
In Hollywood Studios, Fantasmic! is moving from 8:30 PM to 9 PM starting on April 24th. We usually see these changes as the sun sets later, so Disney can push back the nighttime shows so they’re actually at night (because Happily Ever After just isn’t the same during the day!).
We know that after a long day riding rides, eating snacks, and worrying about your next Lightning Lane, it might be tempting to skip the nighttime show in the parks, but let us convince you to stay for Fantasmic. Unlike Happily Ever After in front of the Castle in Magic Kingdom, and Illuminations: The Symphony of Us around the World Showcase of EPCOT, Fantasmic is in an amphitheater with SEATS! Yep, no standing around to claim your spot and fighting off people for that perfect view in front of the castle.
You’ll want to line up early to make sure you get a spot in the theater, since with one show a night, it can get busy. Once you’re lined up, Cast Members will organize the crowds for seating. If you’re earlier, it’s likely you’ll be closer to the stage, but it’s so nice to just wait in line and not have to strategically choose your spot and wait for hours. There’s also accessible seating in the front and back of the theater for more options (just note that you’ll need to get up a massive hill in the theater first!).
There’s a ton of construction happening around Hollywood Studios right now, but one we can’t stop talking about is Walt Disney Studios, which will be home to the Magic of Disney Animation. There, you’ll be able to take drawing classes and learn to draw different characters — maybe you’ll draw Mickey Mouse himself!
Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for all the important updates you need before heading to the parks for your Disney World vacation.
