We were DEVASTATED when we found out that Disney would be closing its brick-and-mortar Disney Stores across most of the United States, as we had to say goodbye to a childhood favorite place.
The stores began closing as part of the company’s shift toward direct-to-consumer sales and online stores. The closures happened in phases, with all but 25 Disney Stores across North America closing before September 2021. If you were also bummed by this news, you’ll be happy to know that Disney Stores are coming BACK! Well, sort of.
Disney Store is bringing BACK in-person stores beginning in May! In collaboration with Go! Retail Group, Disney Store will launch “Disney Store Limited Time” retail destinations that will bring Disney storytelling to life through engaging, in-person shopping experiences.
Disney Store is kicking off the party with two all-new, limited-time retail destinations, which you can check out below:
- Destination One: Ross Park Mall | Pittsburgh, PA | Opening May 23, 2026
- Destination Two: Westfield Garden State Plaza Mall | Paramus, NJ | Opening Fall, 2026
That’s right, the first one is opening next month — that’s so soon!
The stores will be filled with authentic Disney merchandise, unforgettable experiences, and a space to celebrate the fandom and wonder of Disney, with Disney’s goal of meeting the fans where they’re at “in an environment that reflects Disney Store’s creativity, storytelling, and quality.”
Those visiting Disney Store Limited Time locations can expect signature Disney Store touches and experiences, including opening ceremonies, immersive in-store designs, and products found only at Disney Store.
If you want to attend a Disney Store Limited Time grand opening, keep an eye out for details to be announced soon. Grand openings will be “celebrated with magical moments for guests,” and we can’t wait!
We’ll be on the lookout for more potential brick-and-mortar Disney Store pop-ups you need to know about! In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more.

I worked in the Disney Store #814 for many stores and was very sad when they closed. I worked in a full-time job plus part-time for Disney. I made many friends over the years and still in touch with them. Hopefully, a pop-up store will come to our area.
Hi and THANK YOU for this article. I live in Pittsburgh and just saw that one of the locations you listed is Ross Park Mall! I really miss the Disney Stores and shed a few tears when they closed so I can’t wait until this store opens. Unfortunately, I may have to increase the credit on my Disney Credit Card!!! LOL!
