Walt Disney World trips are ALWAYS a treat.
Whether it’s your first time, 50th time, or 500th time visiting the “Most Magical Place on Earth,” arriving is always exciting. However, there is a danger to getting overly amped on your first day.
As we’ve said many times before, visiting Disney World’s theme parks has to be treated much more like a marathon than a sprint.
Understandably, many guests arrive at that FIRST park on the FIRST day of their trip on cloud 9, ready and RARING to go! After all, as they’re crowded in front of one of Disney’s parks for rope drop, this is THE MOMENT they and their family have been counting down months or even years for, finally right in front of them!
However, if you find yourself in that spot, we have a warning: DON’T over-exert yourself right from day one and lose all your steam for the remainder of the parks. Instead, pace yourself. Don’t feel like you need to be doing multiple laps around, say, the World Showcase right when the EPCOT pavilions open up for the day.
And — as you plan out your park itineraries beforehand — look at the park maps to see how close attractions are to one another. That way, you’re not running yourself ragged by planning back-to-back experiences on far opposite ends of the park over and over and OVER again, racking up MORE steps than you need to take in a single day.
Speaking of plans made beforehand, you’ll likely need to secure Advanced Dining Reservations as well. Our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing!
While arriving at Disney World and kicking off vacation is ALWAYS a highlight, it’s important not to over-exert yourself too fast. Believe us, your feet will THANK YOU for sparing them whenever you can. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney tips!
