There’s a lot of planning that goes into taking a Disney World trip, and surprisingly, one of the choices that may stump you is what bag to use in the parks.
It seems like an easy choice — you just need a bag, right? Why overthink it? Well, that’s how easy we WISH it could be, but the truth is, there are a lot of factors to consider when making your choice. If you’re traveling on your own, you may not need as much in the park with you, but what items do you KNOW you need with you? Then, if you’re traveling with family members, especially younger kids who can’t carry their own stuff, that means you need to factor in those items too. See what we mean? It gets complicated fast! I recently asked one of my coworkers, a former Disney World Cast Member, what bag she’d recommend for the parks, and her two suggestions check nearly every box you could need, no matter if you’re solo or on your own.
Our New Go-To
In all honesty, my coworker got the STANLEY Vitalize Backpack specifically to try it for work, but it’s now become her new go-to for any days in the parks, even if she’s just going on her own. For years, she has sworn by the Petunia Picklebottom diaper bags, despite not having kids of her own, due to how much space they have and their organizational abilities. However, the STANLEY Vitalize Backpack has now become her number one pick.
For those who are prone to being chronic overpackers, like many of us, this one distributes everything evenly, so it feels so much lighter. This bag is absolutely the best for someone who either brings a lot into the park for themselves or for their whole group. Listen, we KNOW it’s expensive — the price tag made us do a double take, but we love that it comes with so many pockets to fit our needs, including an expandable bottom pocket. Stanley is also known for durability, and the bag does come with a lifetime warranty. Ours has been holding up incredibly well, even after numerous hours in the park, so yes, we’re massive fans.
Travel Lighter? No Worries — Baggu is The Way To Go
However, we do have lots of other Cast Member friends who don’t bring nearly as much into the parks with them, or they’re just not fans of the backpack style. If you find yourself in that same category, our Cast Member friends absolutely recommend Baggu bags. These are crossbody style with adjustable straps, so you can make it fit however you’d like. They come in SO many different colors, and we love the zippered pocket inside to keep everything safe, as well as the key ring to keep your keys easy to find. If you want something simple and easy, and you know you travel light, this is the way to go.
We’ll continue to test out all the latest products in Disney World to let you know how they actually hold up, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB!
