You buy a mug at the start of your vacation and get unlimited refills during your stay — there’s nothing better than that. WAIT! Actually, there is something better — Dollywood’s refillable mug! And we think Disney World should take a note out of Dollywood’s book to make their system better!
Disney World Resort hotels offer refillable mugs for guests to purchase and use for free refills throughout their vacation, but this is only applicable at the resorts. These are 16-ounce mugs that can be used for unlimited free refills on fountain drinks, coffee, and tea at participating Disney resorts for the length of stay up to 14 days.

Each mug costs $22.99 or comes with the purchase of a Disney Dining Plan. An RFID barcode is located on the bottom of the mug, which enables the mug to deactivate when your vacation is complete.

And if you decide you liked having a resort mug on your Disney vacation and want to do it again on your next, you’ll likely have to purchase a whole new mug. While some visitors have reported being able to reactivate the RFID chip in old mugs, it’s not guaranteed, and this is where Dollywood is superior.

At Dollywood, you’ll be able to purchase a refillable mug for refills at the start of your vacation AND bring it back on your next…and your next…and your next for MORE refills until the end of the season! Dollywood typically closes for the winter in early January and typically reopens in mid-March, so if you purchase a refillable mug in March, you’ll be able to use it ALL THE WAY until January!

You can purchase a refillable mug at Dollywood for $24.99 plus tax. And if you’re purchasing more than one, you’ll get a discount! For two mugs, you’ll pay $21.99 plus tax per mug, and if you purchase three or more mugs, you’ll pay $18.99 plus tax per mug! These mugs are valid on fountain drinks, and guests will receive a discount on frozen drinks, only paying $4.99 on those refills!

That Dollywood cup also looks larger than 16 ounces! It is so annoying to get back from a long, hot day at the park and have to camp out in the dining hall to get hydrated! You know this is your one shot, because after you make the never-ending trek to your room, no one is going all the way back just for one more drink. 😆
As a Dollywood diamond passholder (for a mere $300 a calendar year), I get a 20oz insulated mug with unlimited coffee, hot chocolate, slushees, OR soda ALL DAY EVERY DAY. It is the absolute most incredible perk at Dollywood with self serve soda fountains everywhere. You can also buy these refillable mugs shown here at Dollywood for $30 a season – also incredible deal when you go multiple times. Heck – Disney would do better just having refillable water bottle stations visible everywhere – that’s the real failure at Disney – not having free drinking water.
