After a long, hot day exploring one of Disney World’s theme parks, there are very few better feelings than plopping down onto your hotel’s bed for the night.

However, be warned that you might run into an annoying issue with your Disney hotel room’s sheets.
The issue to look out for is the dreaded “short sheet.” Disney uses flat sheets as opposed to fitted sheets, and because of either the size of the sheet they use or the fact that the bottom sheet is tucked in so tightly at the top of the mattress, there’s barely any length left to properly tuck in at the foot of the bed. This causes the sheet to not reach its full length and extend past the end of the mattress enough to stay secure.

So, the sheets tend to “creep up” the bed, especially on those with a tendency to move in their sleep, leaving guests sleeping directly on their mattress. This can be incredibly annoying, especially when one is trying to get a good night’s sleep between long theme park days.

Now, there is a hack to get around this: Bring your own fitted sheet. Toss a basic, inexpensive fitted sheet that doesn’t take up much space in a suitcase, then pop it on over the mattress pad when you arrive at your hotel room. The fitted sheet will stay in place, your feet will stay covered, and the sheets won’t wake you up in the middle of the night. Disney hotels even have laundry available, so you can wash the sheets before you head home if you wish.

Simple solution, right? Well, it should be… as long as you get the right kind of sheet.

For example, this set from Amazon Basics is super soft, made with a breathable, wrinkle-resistant material, and is a 4-Piece Bed Sheet Set with 14-Inch-Deep Pockets, so you can bring the whole set to your Disney resort.
From our experience, what you don’t want to do is try something like these Disposable Bed Sheets. We were NOT a fan of these. The texture is similar to the paper smocks you wear at a doctor’s office, and we could easily see where that could be triggering/bring up bad memories for people. In other words, this is definitely NOT what you’re looking for on vacation.

Yet another example of Disney giving guests less for more. If I have to bring my own sheets there is absolutely no way I’m staying there. Utterly idiotic. Especially at these ridiculous prices.
I have never had a problem with sheets in my multiple visits to WDW Boardwalk. Is this a real thing or just a story filler for DFB? How nit picky are people?
We have experienced this problem both at Disney hotels and other hotels too.
What do you do about housekeeping? I would be afraid they would take them off when they changed the sheets?
In 40 years of Disney vacations, I have never had this problem.
I just spent several days at Kidani Village and had no problems with the sheets. Perhaps the person doing the review got a cast member who wasn’t as good at tucking the sheet. People will always find something to complain about.
I would be ticked off if the hotel sheet did not fit the bed!
My son’s bed looks like a typhoon hit it after he’s slept in it, including the pulling up/out of the bottom sheet when we stay at hotels (most hotels only use flat sheets). I never thought of bringing a fitted sheet to help with that lol! Good idea! Thanks DFB!
I have had that happen at a Disney resort only once- I think Beach Club Villas.
It is sad that anyone would have to bring their own sheet although it is a solution.
Also, looking at that picture of a room at Disneys Beach Club I have to ask what happened to the fun, charming rooms at The Beach Club?! It has absolutely NO personality just like their lobby. Last I saw was painted white? No longer looking like its beach club theme. Whose idea was that? It used to be our favorite but no longer is.
