Disney Teases Sequel for ‘Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion’

Some BIG news is coming out of the Disney Entertainment panel at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.

Well, we’ve seen only a little bit of news around the sequel to 1997’s Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion starring Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow, and guess what? Disney just confirmed that Romy and Michelle are coming back for another theatrical adventure.

Both Sorvino and Kudrow took the stage at the Disney Entertainment panel at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event to give fans an update on the big sequel. The two had previously teased their comebacks in the roles, but Disney has now officially confirmed it. According to Deadline, the sequel will be a Hulu Original film. And as promised, both Sorvino and Kudrow will be returning to the roles they originated.

The original Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion released in 1997 and followed a pair of friends, Romy and Michelle, returning to Tucson for their 10-year high school reunion. In order to impress their former classmates, though, they formulated a plan to claim they were the businesswomen behind Post-Its. Hilarity then ensues.
