EPCOT’s China pavilion is one of the most beautiful areas in the park, and its dining centerpiece is Nine Dragons Restaurant.

The food here is better than your hometown Chinese cuisine, featuring Cantonese, Mongolian, Szechuan, Hunan, and Kiangche-style dishes. But we’ve heard mixed reviews. Still, we think it’s a pretty solid spot that might be less expensive than other table service spots in EPCOT.

On the actual menu, you’ll find a number of familiar-sounding dishes if you often order Chinese food or enjoy dining at Chinese restaurants when you eat out.

• Smoked Duck Bao Buns — Duck breast, scallion, hoisin sauce in steamed buns

• Cheesy Crab Wontons — Fried wontons filled with cream cheese, celery, imitation crab stick

• Ha Gao Shrimp Dumplings  — Steamed shrimp dumplings, pumpkin puree, chili oil, truffle sauce
• Chicken Pot Stickers — Pan-fried chicken dumplings, cabbage, dumpling sauce

• Vegetable Spring Rolls — Crispy spring rolls filled with mixed vegetables, sweet-and-sour sauce
• Wontons in Chili Oil — Steamed wontons filled with shrimp, crab, and chicken, Sichuan chili broth

The Atmosphere at Nine Dragons Restaurant

The gorgeous, intricately carved woodwork, gold details, jade walls, and columns will blow you away.

The atmosphere is quiet and dark, making it a great spot to get away from the crowds.

We also love the ambiance of this restaurant, with decor that feels elegant. We’re talking mahogany accents, intricately carved wood, and muted colors.

The restaurant has three sections: a main dining room, a smaller dining area separated by a wall divider, and an intimate back room. Wherever you sit, be sure to take notice of some of the details. Near the kitchen area, you’ll see nine small windows, each decorated with a colorful glass dragon — hence the restaurant’s name!

This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…

You’re looking for Chinese food that’s better than what you’ll find at your local takeout spot. The food here is likely better than your hometown Chinese cuisine.

You want to have a meal in a lovely setting. The setting is upscale and grand and really makes you feel like you’ve been transported to another place (China, maybe?).

You’re looking for a nice, relatively chill place to take a break while you eat. The vibes aren’t too chaotic, and it has a relaxing atmosphere.

Skip this EPCOT restaurant if…

You’re not looking for Chinese food. As you can probably guess, you’ll only find traditional Chinese dishes on the menu here.

You’re dining with picky kiddos. The kids’ menu is also Chinese-focused, with options like Crispy Honey Chicken and Sweet and Sour Shrimp. For less adventurous kiddos, a different restaurant is probably your best bet.

You want something that’s a bit on the lighter side. While you can find some lighter options, a majority of the dishes are meaty and saucy.
