We know we have a lot of great new arrivals to look forward to in Disney Springs very soon! May 15th alone will bring the debut of the new Town Center of the Springs along with the opening of four new eateries on the same day: Amorette’s Patisserie, B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co., The Daily Poutine, and Sprinkles.
But what about STK Orlando, the modern, high-end steakhouse set to open in The Landing of Disney Springs? It’s been a while since there has been any news regarding this spot which was originally slated for a late 2015 opening, then rescheduled for early 2016. With early 2016 officially past, we’re happy to report that there is talk swirling around this location once again, with Disney projecting an opening this summer.
Along with that tidbit, Disney also provided some clues as to what we’ll find on the menu, including a few items that will be exclusive to the Disney Springs location: Florida Grouper, Chilled Rubbed Rack of Lamb, and Seared Tuna (approximately 20 percent of the menu will be unique to STK Orlando). Signature dishes from other STK locations will be available as well, such as “lil BRGs” made with Wagyu beef, and Lobster Mac & Cheese along with seafood and steaks.
Chef James O’Donnell will serve as the Executive Chef for STK Orlando, and he shared that he is “looking forward to growing my relationships with local vendors and purveyors to utilize the resources that are available in the area, especially seasonal fruits, produce and seafood.”
As far as dining in Orlando, Chef O’Donnell states that, “The food scene in the Orlando and greater Central Florida area is on a steady rise due to increasing guest demand for sophisticated dining, and STK is excited to be a part of that continued growth.”
We can’t wait to welcome Chef O’Donnell and STK Orlando to Disney Springs this summer!
