It’s off to the beach with D.J. Jones as we escape to the Green Cabin Room at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. D.J. is a lifelong Disney fan from Ocala, Florida. You can follow all of his adventures at The World of Deej. Now, let’s take that seaside journey…
If you’re planning a vacation at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, be sure to check out The Green Cabin Room for some light bites and a view that simply can’t be beat.
Atmosphere
One part traditional oak paneled bar, another part oceanfront patio, the atmosphere at The Green Cabin Room is the best of both worlds. Inside, you’ll find dim lighting, antique style furnishings, and a gorgeous old-school wooden bar.
There is live entertainment nearly every evening, which seems to be popular not just with guests, but with locals as well. In addition, there are two TVs discreetly tucked in the corners, which can come in handy should the World Cup Final take place during your vacation, as was the case with mine last year.
With no soccer games to subject my wife to this time around, we opted to sit outside and enjoy the ocean air and incredible view.
Eats
With our vacation barely an hour old, we felt it appropriate to start with an adult beverage to celebrate our arrival. The bars at the Vero Beach resort use the same beverage menu that is available at all the outlets throughout Walt Disney World, so if you have a favorite, it’s sure to be available.
We opted for the white sangria, which was incredibly refreshing, especially on this August afternoon in Florida.
While at its core The Green Cabin Room is primarily a bar, they offer a menu of appetizers, sandwiches, and flatbreads. It’s perfect for those looking for a light bite, or who simply want to linger a while and soak up the view.
We started with the “Sampler Platter,” which as the name suggests offers a little bit of everything. The dish featured crab cakes, southwestern egg rolls, chicken wings, and spinach & artichoke dip. All the items were quite tasty, especially the chicken wings, which I’m pretty sure were actually created in heaven.
Still hungry after the sampler, and not in any hurry to leave the ocean air, we opted for another round of plates.
My wife went with the Sausage Flatbread while I chose, you guessed it, more chicken wings. Did I mention they were made in heaven? The flatbread was also delicious, featuring a perfectly crisp crust, and sausage with a nice mix of both sweet and spice.
Overall
We have dined at every outlet of Disney’s Vero Beach Resort several times each, and The Green Cabin Room is without a doubt our favorite.
If you’re looking for a full on meal with the family, this may not be the best choice for you. But if you’re looking for a great place to linger for a while, soak up the view, and enjoy some lighter fare with a beverage or two, then The Green Cabin Room is a can’t miss.

We spent an evening at the Green Cabin Room in October. It was very windy during our visit, so we opted to sit inside, instead of outside on the deck.
It is a lovely room. The lighting was low and warm and the seats comfortable.
We chose to share several appetizers as our light dinner. It was perfect.
Our services was outstanding, the food was great, the live entertainments was pleasant.
We enjoyed our evening very much
Awesome! We have to check this out on our next trip to Vero Beach. We stumbled into the Green Cabin Room last visit, but only because we were looking for Olivia’s and the signage in the lobby was a little confusing. I wish we had gone back later… the food & view look amazing!
Glad you both share my love of the Green Cabin Room!
This is where we went to sit (and grin!) immediately after my husband proposed to me 😀 Thanks for the revisit!
This place should be called the Blue Sea Cabin Room!
@Becca…Awesome story…Great place to get engaged!
@Savorique…Yes, that name would totally work…
I’m going to go a little off topic here and ask that someone speak to the food at Hilton Head. I love Savannah, partly due to the wonderful food (Paula Dean’s The Lady and Sons, Mrs. Wilkes’ Boarding House) and partly due to the great atmosphere. I’ve stayed in Savannah proper, but have thought about Hilton Head. The drawback is I know the great food in the city but don’t know enough about the Hilton Head food. Anyone ever stay or eat there?
We go to Vero every Disney trip to relax a few days, then on the WDW. The Green Cabin Room is our very favorite place! Love the atmosphere, the view, the staff and the food and drink. The Mai Tai is awesome!!
