Sooo
… official news announcing the new Skipper Canteen Jungle Cruise restaurant coming to Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland wasn’t enough for ya?
Star Wars Lands — PLUS CANTINAS! — Coming to Disney World and Disneyland!
Well, then, let’s see if THIS does the trick… A REAL, TRUE STAR WARS CANTINA will be coming to both Disney World AND Disneyland as part of the Star Wars-themed Lands announced for BOTH coasts at the D23 Expo! We’ve been dreaming about this for years!
Here is a glimpse of the concept art for the Star Wars Cantina!
Disneyland and Hollywood Studios will be the homes for each 14-acre expansion “where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life.” According to Bob Iger, “We are creating a jaw-dropping new world that represents our largest single themed land expansion ever. These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet, including an epic Star Wars adventure that puts you in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.”
Each land will have two signature attractions (Move over, Han, because one of them will allow guests to take control of the Millennium Falcon!).
AND, of course — most pertinent to our readers — everyone there will have to EAT, right? We made the case for a Star Wars Cantina years ago, and it’s finally happening! BRING ON THE BAND!!!
The best part? All restaurants, shops, and other establishments in the Star Wars Lands will be owned and run by residents, so the theme will run deep, my friends!

So What’s On the Menu?
Well, we know one item that will be featured at the Cantina: BLUE MILK!!
Whether Blue Milkshakes will be up for ordering, too, remains to be seen…
Beyond that, we’ve received just a small taste (pun intended!) of what Star Wars dining experiences are like, thanks to special dining events that have come to pass at Star Wars Weekends at Hollywood Studios: Jedi Mickey’s Star Wars Dine, Star Wars Galactic Dine-In Breakfast, and the Rebel Hangar: A Star Wars Lounge Experience.
But — terrific as they were — those were all events hosted at pre-existing restaurants that have their own themes. We’re talking about a really, truly, straight-up STAR WARS CANTINA, my friends…! Menu details still to come, but we’re sure they’ll be epic.
Seasons of the Force
But, wait… there’s more!!! The all-new Seasons of the Force event will come to BOTH Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland in early 2016. In Hollywood Studios, the event will include a brand new fireworks show (on weekends only) set to the music of Star Wars.
In Disneyland’s Tomorrowland, there will be additional Star Wars entertainment, themed food locations (!), AND a re-imagineered version of Space Mountain. With Hyperspace Mountain (!!), guests will participate in an X-wing Starfighter battle! All of this should serve nicely to give us more of idea of what’s to come when the Star Wars Lands come to life at long last!
And I, for one, CAN’T WAIT! How about you :)?
So, whaddya think?! Please let us know with a comment!

This is my dream come true .
Did they say when these lands will be opened to the public??? can’t wait!!!
I have to be honest, my biggest interest in Star Wars has always been that I liked R2D2; I think he’s so cute (I thought Harrison Ford looked pretty cute, too). But, I’m really excited about this new land that’s coming. I’ve been a little crazy that I haven’t been to the World since 2012 and have no trip in sight (at present), but I’m so hyped up about how many new things I have to look forward to when I do finally get there, that I feel like my head is spinning. Pandora, Disney Springs, Jungle Cruise Restaurant, Star Wars Land, new Norway, etc., it’s all GOOD!
OMG! When?!!!! Please say soon!
Can’t wait till 2016! I love Star Wars and I live only an hour away from Disney World! I’ll be one of the first ones to see everything! I LOVE Disney!
The Force is strong with Disney!!!! I do hope they actually build out (what appears to be) the Millennium Falcon as part of an attraction. Really looking forward to the Cantina, as well. I can barely wait!!!!!!
Thank you, AJ, for keeping us all updated with the latest!
I think a restaurant that looks like the Death Star would be cool, think the roundness of Planet Hollywood on the outside!
OMG!!!!!! I’m so excited I can’t Wait till they open it !!!!!
OMG!!! I’m a grown man and I’ve never been so excited!
This has been speculated & finally confirmed! I’ll definitely have to move up my next visit & start saving up for it.
I will miss Big Thunder Mountain BBQ please tell me you are relocating that restaurant somewhere else in Disneyland.
When is the star wars land I’m dying to go there!
Will this change the dates of Star Wars weekends for 2016?
