If you find yourself in the Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland at Walt Disney World, and you’re craving something unique and sweet, get yourself over to Storybook Treats because this quick service spot is playing fast and loose with some creative goodies!
The current menu features the brand new, summer-ready Peter Pan Float (which we shared with you a couple of days ago) and a Twinkie Sundae. Just let that sink in for a minute.
Twinkie. Sundae. And not just any Twinkie — a deep-fried Twinkie (same as they serve up at nearby Friar’s Nook!)!
This is a straight-up Twinkie that’s been fried to even deeper golden brown. On our visit, the outside tasted… a little stale. But the inside was still creamy and had the right texture.
The ice cream is a vanilla soft serve (you can opt for chocolate or twist, too), and the sauce is hot fudge. It all works, with that warm, fried Twinkie contrasting the ice cream. You’ll want to eat it pretty fast — both because it’s going to start melting immediately and because it’s super tasty. 😉
But if you follow the DFB on social media, you’ll already recognize this next guy: the Peter Pan Float!
This is a ridiculously refreshing float option, with key lime soft serve floating atop Sprite. The ice cream itself is bright and delicious, with the key lime flavor really coming through.
And Sprite is Sprite, but with the ice cream, it’s a perfect match. (We suppose you could request a different soda for this, but there’s no denying Sprite is the best match for the key lime soft serve.)
There’s a chocolate feather on there for good measure. This is one sweet treat that’s totally ready for its close-up!
Yeah, summer might be hot in central Florida, but with treats like these, we’re okay with it. 😉

Can you just get the key lime soft serve by itself without getting the float? It’s not listed as a soft serve flavor option on the menu posted.
What kind of menu is that? There are no prices for the guests. Are there any other menus like that?
Essie, at many of the quick service locations, we find placards with the items in addition to the signs above the ordering area, which do list prices.
Bonnie, you can get the Key Lime Ice Cream on its own, but it can not be swirled with another flavor.
FYI: The Twinkie sundae is no longer available. The lady at the counter said they tried introducing it at the same time as the Peter Pan float and the small number sales for it didn’t justify keeping it on the menu.
Kris, good to know! Thank you!
