Disney has been taking a large number of initiatives to become a more environmentally friendly company. A big way they have done this is by trading in plastic straws for paper straws. And today we spotted paper straws at a Starbucks in Disneyland! SO… we can go ahead and add Starbs to the list of growing eco-friendly straw locations!
Paper straws and reusable shopping bags are two changes that Disney has made as they progress toward their goal of no single-use plastics in the parks in 2019.
We have also spotted paper straws at a large number of Disneyland counter service locations. These locations have included Hungry Bear restaurant, Stage Door Cafe, and Rancho Del Zocalo!
These new paper straws have also been seen at a few Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea locations at Walt Disney World. (Read all about that here!!) AND fun fact…paper straws have been seen at Animal Kingdom for a while now!
Read more about Disney’s paper straw initiative here!
Disney’s single-use plastic transformation is still in progress. SO you might still receive a plastic straw at a few locations. BUT DO NOT FRET! Disney will bring in more paper straws once their plastic straw supply is depleted!

I read an interesting article this week about how some of these are made from materials that are bad allergens for some people. Please be careful everyone.
First off, can I just say I absolutely adore your blog.
At first I was really behind getting rid of plastic straws but now I’ve changed my mind. Apparently they are extremely important to help disabled people enjoy their drinks and the fact they are so widely available means that anyone who needs them doesn’t have to explain the medical reason. Plastic straws, especially the bendable ones, are the only type of straws most disabled people can safely drink from, metal, paper and other versions are just not as safe or feasible. Plastic straws are also one of the smallest contributions to waste. I’ve lost the original article where this was written but you can find a lot of stories about the affect this is going to have on people.
