Some MASSIVE changes have hit Disney World this year.
Typhoon Lagoon
Over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Bluey’s Wild World has opened, and at the same time, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets officially opened in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Cool KIDS’ SUMMER brought in some unique experiences around the resort as a whole, and the list goes on! Along with all of that, a huge Disney World hotel perk finally returned for the summer, so if you’re staying on property this summer, don’t forget to take advantage of it!
No matter what Disney World hotel you’re staying at, if you’ve got a reservation booked from May 26th through the end of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER on September 8th, you get access to either one of Disney World’s two water parks for FREE on the day of your check-in! Whether you want to hang out at Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon, both of which are open all summer long, your Disney World hotel reservation gets you a free ticket, but it’s only available on the day you check in to your hotel.

Originally, this perk was available all year in 2025, but it was changed to just the summer months this year. The perk has already been confirmed to return for 2027 as well, but it’s unclear what dates it’ll be available. This is a fantastic way to spend your first day of vacation, in our eyes.

There’s nothing special you need to do to get the ticket — if you’ve got a reservation booked at a Disney World hotel between now and September 8th, you’ll have a water park ticket valid for that check-in day. At this time, though, there’s no way to change your access to a different day of your trip, so you either use it on day one or lose the opportunity to use it altogether.

You had me so excited! What a letdown! I don’t care one bit about water parks being available! I have never gone to the water parks and at 67 years old I’m sure not going to start now. When is Disney going to reinstate the REAL best perk; package return to your resort? I have changed my mind about buying something many times because I didn’t want to carry it around the park all day!
