May 1, 2019 is the 30th Anniversary of Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

And the day will be packed with specialty snacks, merchandise, events, and more in the park to commemorate the milestone.

Star-Studded Cavalcade and Commemorative Map & Button

A Disney’s Hollywood Studios 30th Anniversary Star-Studded Celebration cavalcade featuring Mickey and friends will begin at 10:00 AM on May 1st along Hollywood Boulevard!

And, upon entering the park, guests will be presented with a special 30th anniversary commemorative guide map and button.

Snacks and Merchandise

30th Anniversary merchandise

will hit the park on May 1st, including a new adult T-shirt, baseball cap, Tervis 24-oz tumbler, MagicBand, ornament and more.

Annual Passholder-exclusives will also be for sale.

According to Disney: “Merchandise can be found starting at 8 a.m. in Grand Park, while supplies last. (Please note: Merchandise will go on sale at 8 a.m., Disney’s Hollywood Studios opens at 9 a.m.)”

Specialty Food and Beverage items around the park will include — but not be limited to — Kylo Ren Cupcakes, Incredibles Macarons, Tres Leches Verrine and more.

New Nighttime Events

As previously announced, the new nighttime projection show — Wonderful World of Animation — will make its official debut on May 1st!

Disney shares: “Watch in wonder as the façade of the Chinese Theatre is magically transformed – displaying this stirring tribute to animation. Behold spectacular sequences celebrating themes like magic, family, adventure, romance and friendship. Each theme is brought to life through unforgettable moments from beloved films—like “Sleeping Beauty,” “The Incredibles,” “Coco” and many more.”

9:05 PM is the debut time, and will take place just prior to Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular.

And note that tickets are now on sale for a special Disney After Hours Event Night that has been added to the schedule for May 1.

While you can learn more about the event here, it’s been revealed that the May 1st event will include character greetings in the Chinese Theatre Courtyard, at Star Wars Launch Bay, and more. And an encore performance of “Wonderful World of Animation” will take place exclusively for event attendees.
