Disney After Hours events offer guests the chance to enjoy the parks – along with included snacks and more — after closing hours at three Disney World Parks: Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Limited guest capacity for these events results in little-to-no wait for attractions, experiences and character greetings.
Today Disney has announced that more dates have been added to these popular events for each of the three parks. And, in addition, two special celebration nights have been announced for Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
As for the newly released dates, here you go!
- Magic Kingdom: May 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom: May 7, 14 and 21; and June 4, 11 and 18
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios: May 1, 4, 10, 17, 24 and 31; and June 14, 21 and 28
The two special celebration nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are as follows:
May 1 – Celebrate Disney’s Hollywood Studios 30th anniversary with special anniversary merchandise, additional character greetings and more food & beverage offerings to purchase.
May 4 – Celebrate May the Fourth dressed in your best galactic Star Wars attire* Prepare yourself for Epic Character Encounters including Chewbacca with REY, Darth Vadar, Kylo Ren with CAPTAIN PHASMA, Ewoks, Jawas and imperial stormtroopers. Plus, specialty treats available for purchase. (Note that guests are required to adhere to the park guidelines for costumes.)
The price for Disney After Hours events are $125 + tax for advance purchase and $129 + tax for day-of purchases.

Will August have any of these after hours? I am hopping we can go to one.
Thank you!

Do you know what the maximum crowd capacity for these nights would be? I know they say “lower crowds” but I have been to both the MNSSHP and MVMCP and did not think the crowds were much less then an average day at the park.
DFB Sarah says
Natalie, they tend to announce the After Hours events closer to the dates, so keep checking. 🙂

As an out of state annual passholder I never considered doing this but after your wonderful video it makes a lot of sense when we come for a short birthday trip with just one of our teens vs the 1-2 wk trips with our large family. We’ll be there in Nov for 3 day school celebrating a 13th birthday, would make great special surprise vs an expensive dinner. THanks so much for all the info. Hoping they have Hollywood open to do Star Wars for After Hours, that would be awesome for our Star Wars fanatic birthday girl.

How does Disney handle those who enter the rides right at closing, since Disney allowed them to ride. I imagine Pandora wait times are still very long?
Heather says
Do they have these dates year-round? I see for now, they just have dates through June, but I will be there sometime in the fall, and would love to go one night.

Hi AJ – great video and excellent information! Something I never thought of but may look into even though we are AP’s. May be beneficial during those hotter months for us. One question though – are the stores open during the after hours events? Can you shop? Mostly I’m asking about Magic Kingdom because they have such great shops and Hollywood studios too! Thanks!
DFB Sarah says
Arlene, some stores are open!
DFB Sarah says
Heather, they do typically have After Hours throughout the year, but they release those select dates closer to the event. You’ll have to keep checking as it gets closer to your trip. And we’ll update, too!
DFB Sarah says
Dustin, in our experience, the wait times in Pandora were minimal. I’m linking our review of After Hours at Animal Kingdom here so you can see what it was like. Hope this helps!
