Disney destinations around the globe are continuing in efforts towards reducing plastic waste by eliminating single-use plastics such as bags, lids, and straws.
Today we’re checking in on the transition in Magic Kingdom where paper straws are now available (as opposed to plastic) in several Counter Service locations around the park.
For instance, at Casey’s Corner on Main Street, U.S.A., the straw dispenser now dispenses paper straws. And in speaking with a manager, there are only paper straws available at Casey’s now, so you won’t find any plastic ones there going forward.
We also found paper straws at Sunshine Tree Terrace, Aloha Isle, and Tortuga Tavern.
It’s a different story at The Confectionery, though, where the area dedicated to Goofy’s Glaciers still has plastic straws. We also found plastic straws at the Pretzel and Churro carts on Main Street, U.S.A.
And so, the transition from plastic to paper straws continues, and we’re spotting the paper versions at traditional Counter Service locations more than at carts and kiosks. So, though the transition isn’t complete, it seems more likely than not that you’ll find paper straws over plastic more and more in the coming weeks and months.

Any idea if the straws are gluten free? A lot of paper sealants aren’t (like envelopes)
Stefanie, we’ll look into this!
We had paper straws growing up in the 50’s-60’s as a kid in California. Going full circle now that we’re in Florida now. WTG Disney.
Looking into bringing a reusable cup and straw and just wondered what size e.g. 500ml a regular drink was. Don’t want to get too small a cup.
Curious about tomorrow land. I couldn’t get any type of straw anywhere in tomorrow land the first week of April.
Jill, regular is 20oz.
