It’s ALMOST MAY… which means it’s almost OPENING MONTH for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland, which is opening on May 31, 2019!
And, of course, Galaxy’s Edge will open in Disney World’s Hollywood Studios on August 29, 2019. But no matter which is your destination, Disney is providing some handy tips and sharing more information bit by bit for logistics when it comes to visiting the land.
Today brings a few new fun tidbits by way of Disney’s “Know Before You Go” video series to prepare guests for this highly anticipated opening. Today’s video shares features regarding how the Disneyland park app will work in Galaxy’s Edge (and presumably speaks to how the Disney World counterpart app, My Disney Experience, may be used as well).
Disney confirmed that select locations in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will offer Mobile Order — the process which allows guests to pre-order and pre-pay for their food at participating Counter Service Restaurants in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Mobile Order for participating Galaxy’s Edge locations will be available for guests via their park app once inside the land. (P.S. They hint that the Milk Stand might be one of the participating spots!)
Disney also confirmed that there will be Disney PhotoPass photo opportunities in Galaxy’s Edge.
Disney also reminds in the video that the Play Disney Parks app will be a terrific interactive tool once inside the land, when it will transform into your very own Star Wars Datapad.
“More and More cool stuff will be added to the Play Disney Parks app for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and your experience can be different every time,” Disney shares.

I’m a little sad there wasn’t a sit down reservation table service place included. Hopefully as time goes they’ll build out one, I just always feel rushed at quick service locations and the seating is NEVER adequate.
