Disney World’s Animal Kingdom will ring in the holiday season like never before with NEW entertainment and holiday décor beginning November 8, 2019!
Discovery Island
On Discovery Island, guests will find themselves “in the midst of a celebration of winter, hand-crafted by the eclectic community of artists who make the island their home.” During the day, guests will encounter a “holiday gathering of winter animals, realized in the form of life-size, artisan-sculpted puppets. Reindeer, foxes, polar bears, penguins and more” will interact with guests who will also enjoy performances by serenading musicians for festive fun.
Sparkling white decorations and colorful animal-inspired luminaries will line the rooftops along with wireframe lanterns shaped like birds to light up the night.
And the Tree of Life, of course, will awaken at night “with a series of wintry tales, complemented by a familiar and heartwarming holiday-inspired musical score.”
And the Tree will shimmer “alive with the magic of nature and the spirit of the holidays” between awakenings.
Dinoland, U.S.A.
Meet Donald and friends as Dinoland, U.S.A. has a holiday party as part of Donald’s Dino-Bash!
Holiday decorations “in the style of Donald Duck and each of his pals” will set the scene while nighttime will deliver the Truck-O-Saurus for the Holiday Hoopla Dance Party with Chip ‘n Dale!
Asia
The residents of Anandapur in Animal Kingdom’s Asia will decorate the theatre district in celebration of Diwali, the holiday festival of lights in India.
Glowing flowers, lanterns and more will light up the square between Anandapur Theater and the waterfront stage which presents authentic cultural performances.
Pandora — The World of AVATAR
Even the “the ex-pats living and working on the moon of Pandora” will get into the spirit and bring Christmastime into their new home, as Pongu Pongu will house “kitschy holiday décor, combining vintage pieces from Earth with items handcrafted from materials indigenous to Pandora.”
Africa
The holiday presentation in the village of Harambe in Africa will blend “the inspiration and style of western traditions with the colors and textiles of authentic African celebrations.”
The performers in Harambe will have holiday enhancements with costume additions and new music. Inside Tusker House, the holiday fun will continue at the park’s character meal with Mickey and friends.
The wild holiday season celebrations will kick off on November 8, 2019 in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

Will these festivities continue after Christmas day? We’re planning to go between December 26-31.
Jacqueline, Disney has only announced the start date for the Animal Kingdom holiday celebrations, but these celebrations do frequently carry into early-January (as with Flurry of Fun at Hollywood Studios). If we do hear an end date, we’ll update.
