Want some grubs? How about some BUGS? Well, if you said “YES” to both, you’re in the right place!
Because we’re bringing you the Bugs ‘n Grubs Waffle Cone, currently served at the Anandapur Ice Cream Truck and Trilo-Bites in Disney’s Animal Kingdom as part of a new batch of specialty snacks in honor of the characters of “The Lion King” available now through the end of summer!
This ice cream tribute to Timon and Pumba — made with their favorite… umm, “treat,” GRUBS!! — serves up chocolate soft-serve ice cream in a green cone with cookies and cream “dirt” crumbles, gummy worms, and a chocolate bug.
Does it “Taste like chicken?” 😉 No, so it’s not exactly like the grubs Timon and Pumbaa are after. It’s simply chocolate ice cream dressed up with some fun touches. Only, it’s those extra touches that make this snack cute, but not especially functional.
You see, you have to act REALLY fast to eat this one. The gummy worm and bug on the top slid off of our cone literally within a few seconds. And we weren’t the only ones whose bug met this fate…
We saw more than just our candy bug on the streets of Anandapur. So, while it’s a pretty adorable treat and your kiddos may love the idea, consider yourself (and your candy bugs) warned that this is a tough one to manage on a hot day in Animal Kingdom.
Like the other Lion King treats — including Simba’s Sunset Dole Whip, the Asante Slush, and the Simba Ice Cream Sandwich — this Cone is available through the end of summer.

It’s a nice idea in theory but pretty messy. =P
Hopefully you can ask for it in a cup instead and save your bug from a sad sad fate, that might make it more easily shareable amongst little ones too, although splitting the bug might be … tough! =P
