We’re BACK with another roundup of What’s New at Epcot!
Today we’ll cover allll the construction updates, adorable new merchandise, and so much more. Let’s get started!
Epcot Food Update
When we stopped by Club Cool for a quick break, we noticed that they were completely out of Italy’s Beverly soda. If you’re a fan of the much-talked-about beverage, a Cast Member told us it should be restocked soon.
At La Cantina de San Angel, we spotted a few changes to the margarita menu! A Patron Strawberry Margarita has replaced the Patron Loco Margarita, the three floaters are new, and the menu used to feature Tequila Altos Reposado and Pomegranate Liqueur.
In the China Pavilion, Lotus Blossom Cafe has made some menu changes as well. Chicken Fried Rice has replaced the Shrimp Fried Rice dish. The Chicken Fried Rice was previously offered as a special item for a couple of weeks, but now it’s landed on the regular menu. On the Lotus Blossom’s beverage menu, Panda Boba Blackberry Iced Tea has replaced the Iced Peach Oolong Tea.
Over in the United Kingdom Pavilion, Rose & Crown Pub is now serving the Ploughman’s Lunch inside. The beer stand outside has been offering this meal for a few weeks now.

Epcot Construction Update
As you likely know, there is a LOT of construction going on in Epcot as part of its massive transformation, and we’re here to give you all the progress updates we found!
Let’s kick things off with Future World’s Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster, which we’re SO PUMPED about! This thrill ride will be housed in the old Universe of Energy building and is set to open in 2021! If only 2021 would hurry up and get here…
Also in Future World, the space-themed restaurant continues to progress. This restaurant is between Mission: Space and Test Track, and is set to open later this year! We can’t wait to learn more about this exciting new restaurant.
As we reported last week, construction fencing and walls have gone up from Journey into the Imagination toward Character Spot and around, blocking off the path heading into World Showcase. Don’t forget that during the closure, the pathway between Future World and World Showcase is closed, so you’ll either have to walk all the way around or cut through the Character Spot/Club Cool building.
Heading over to the American Adventure Pavilion, the existing Liberty Inn building is being renovated to become Regal Eagle: Craft Drafts & Barbecue.
The area where the merchandise stand usually stands is blocked off as well. The stand has been moved down closer to Germany’s Block and Hans kiosk for now.
Construction continues to progress in the France Pavilion. We are so excited for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure AND the new crêperie to open! We’re looking forward to the new Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along Experience as well! While we don’t have specific open dates for these experiences yet, Disney shared that all the new experiences “are coming to the pavilion in time for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort.”
In case you missed it, the Skyliner Gondola System will open September 29th! We enjoyed seeing the gondolas testing when we were in Epcot!
Over in Canada, tan-covered scaffolding remains up near Le Cellier. We have no official word on what’s going on, but we expect exterior maintenance.
Epcot Merchandise Update
It’s time to talk about merchandise!! (Can you tell we LOVE Disney merch??)
In Mouse Gear, we spotted a Peter Pan OtterBox phone case! And get this — it glows in the dark! You can purchase one for $49.99.
Also in Mouse Gear, we found the Disney Snacks Pop Socket phone case ($54.99) we previously spotted in Disneyland! This case features Mickey pretzels, caramel apples, and so many more awesome snacks. We’re getting hungry just looking at it!
Sticking around in Mouse Gear, we noticed a super cute Imagination Pink bracelet for $14.99. Imagination Pink is one of the latest Disney color crazes but we hadn’t seen this bracelet yet! The beaded bracelet is accented with gold mouse ear hats for an extra (and cute!) touch.
Mouse Gear is really bringing it with awesome merch this week, you guys! While we were there, we found some adorable snack character pens ($9.99)! These pens are super cool because when we clicked one, the arms of the characters move to make it look like they’re eating!
We found Timon…
…Remy…
…Genie…
…and a Toy Story alien! We love the fact that the Little Green Man is enjoying a slice of Pizza Planet’s pie.
Learn more about the character pens here!
In honor of The Little Mermaid‘s 30th anniversary, Mouse Gear’s kids’ section was highlighting a whole bunch of merchandise based on the film!
We spotted clothing, crowns, and much more, but the star of the show was the Ariel doll! This doll is part of the Disney Parks Diamond Castle Collection. If you’d like to add her to your collection, you may do so for $129.99!
Now that we’ve covered ALLL the new merch in Mouse Gear, we can tell you about the adorable Epcot mug ornaments ($14.99) from Fountain View! We’ve previously spotted Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom versions of these ornaments, and we’re so glad Epcot has them as well!
You’ll spot some of Epcot’s most popular park icons on the ornament, such as Spaceship Earth, the Eiffel Tower, and the World Showcase Lagoon!
In Heritage Manor Gifts, we found an America tote bag we hadn’t seen before! The bag features several symbols that are widely known in the United States, such as the Liberty Bell and a bald eagle. You can grab it for $19.99.
Food and Wine Festival Booths Update
In Epcot International Food and Wine Festival News, more food booths are up! Note that the Thailand booth is where Islands of the Caribbean was last year, and Islands of the Caribbean has moved down closer to Mexico. The Festival begins on August 29, so we’ll keep watching and updating as more booths come to fruition!
See which booths we’ve spotted already!
Chinese Acrobats Update
The acrobats in the China Pavilion are enjoyed by many Disney World guests! When we were in the area, we noticed that they’ve moved the show into the temple. According to a Cast Member, they’ve moved the show inside due to heat. The show must go on, as they say!

When I read “Pens” in the headline I though “seriously?”, but those character faces (except for the alien), WOW! They look shocked and amazed at what they’re eating. Most character anythings are either straight off model sheets or a direct recreation of a scene. It takes some real talent to make original emoting scuplts like the ones on those pens. So much character in those characters. I wish I was in a park to pick up a Timon pen right now.
