Annual Passholder Room Discounts for January – April
Disney also released an offer for Annual Passholders looking to score a discount on their Walt Disney World Resort hotel rooms in 2020.
How much can I save?
For most nights from January 1 through April 25, 2020, Annual Passholders can save 25% to 35% at select hotels. Select Deluxe Resorts will offer up to a 35% discount, select Moderate Resorts will offer up to 30% savings, and select Value Resorts will save up to 25%. Select Deluxe Villas reservations can also save 35% with this offer.

U.S. Military Resort Discounts Throughout 2020
Active and retired U.S. military personnel are eligible for room-only discounts for dates throughout 2020 as well. This offer can be booked through December 18 and can not be combined with any other offers. The offer (which isn’t specifically described by Disney but are described as “great rates”) will be valid most nights January 1 to April 4 and April 19 to December 18, 2020.

Do you anticipate discounts coming in the Fall (like October 2020). We’ve booked already, but always looking for discounts and/or dinning plan upgrades.

Chris, it looks like Disney may be working on the link. When I looked at it earlier (around 7AM, it was not working; around 9AM it was; and now it’s not again). Keep checking!
Jon, we would expect Disney will announce fall 2020 discounts, too. No word on when that will be. Keep watching DFB for updates! (We send out a Newsletter when the discounts drop, so you might want to sign up for that!)

I have a reservation booked for POR from back in June. Even with the new discount, my average room rate is cheaper with my original booking. In fact, the original reservation is lower than any other resorts with the new discount.
Just make sure you compare if you already have a reservation.
Just got off the annual passholder line right around 13:00 EDT. They said that the AP offers are “being amended” and they should be available later today. Right now even the Disney people can’t access them.
Do you think these will be the only spring discounts? Or is there a chance more could be announced at some point?

Is it just me, or did the standard prices of rooms mysteriously inflate at the same time as these “discounts”? Prices for the rooms were cheaper for the same dates in Feb 2020 when I looked over the summer, without discounts. Hmmm… no big events taking place early Feb to inflate prices either.
I have booked a hotel only for March 2020. How would I be able to get the hotel discount? Thanks for all the awesome information.
Nancy, you’ll want to call Disney to see if one of the discounts works for you, then have them book with the discount! Have a great time!
Frank, of the discounts out presently, the only one I know of that goes into December 2020 is for active duty and retired military. But we expect there will be more discounts announced throughout 2020.

Did they not release Disney Visa Cardholder Discounts this year?
What if you had a package booked that was more then six days? I had my TA call and she did indeed get us the discount. Would we still get the gift cards?
We’ve been booked for February 2020 for a few months now. Saw these discounts posted Friday, and called the reservation hotline Friday night. The cast member was super helpful and applied 2 different discounts we qualified for. Between the 2, Free Dining and not sure of the other one, she said it too fast, we saved almost $700.

Lesson: If you’ve already booked, call and ask them to check into it. She was super nice, and anticipated what I wanted as soon as she answered.
Lindsay, it seems like you should since your TA was able to get the discount for you, and they’re part of the discount. But you might want to call Disney to see if they can confirm.
Cait, they did. Recently there was a Visa discount for Riviera, and earlier this year there was one for select 2019 dates.
What about discounts available for Disneyland? Or are you only tracking DW?

Hi! I currently have 2 rooms booked for April under the regular 15% discount. We are thinking of getting my wife an annual pass as she will also be going on her own in Jan for the races. In order to benefit from the passholder additional discount when she gets it, do I need to cancel my current reservation completely and redo it in her name? We have to rooms booked under my account as we have 4 kids so need two adjoining rooms (not sure if having two rooms to book makes a difference?)
Michelle, I’d call Disney directly and see what they can do. I’d hate for you to cancel and then encounter an unforeseen issue making a new one with the Passholder discount.
I would definitely check the prices with the AP discount before canceling. I got a better rate with the public discount rate than with the AP rate.
I’m planing on going to WDW Oct. 2020 for 7 days. We are thinking on getting a AP pass just for that trip. We’re flying in from California. Would it be worth it to buy them and would we get a hotel discount for the resort animal kingdom,if so. How much?
Steve, you’ll want to calculate the cost for tickets, Resort (minus possible discounts), and dining (minus possible discounts) to see if it saves you money. Typically the best chance for an AP to save you money is a long trip — seven days may work!

Just so everyone knows, if you already booked a room and they later come out with a discount, you can MAYBE get it applied to your already booked trip, HOWEVER there is a catch. The same type of room (same # and size of beds, same view) you already booked has to be currently available. I waited too long to call and see if they could apply the discount to our March 2020 trip and since there were only King bedrooms available (we got double queens) so they could not apply the discount. I couldn’t even get the gift card promo since it was tied into the room discount offer. CALL AS SOON AS THEY ANNOUNCE THE DISCOUNTS!
