With the Epcot transformation in full swing, there’s been a lot of work going on around Epcot’s Test Track in Future World!
But now among the construction frenzy of new Space 220 restaurant and the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind coaster, Test Track is about to be stopping dead in its tracks!
That’s right — if you’re coming to Disney World in early 2020 and were looking forward to getting behind the wheel of your very own prototype SIM car, you may find yourself changing your plans! That’s because Disney has just scheduled the ride for routine maintenance.
According to Disney, the ride’s expected closure dates will be January 13, 2020 through February 26, 2020.
We’ll be looking forward to having Test Track back up and runnin’ as good as ever once the refurb is complete! Until then, we’ll be getting in a bunch of quick laps — as we expect a lot of folks will be doing!

Sarah Clark says
NOOOOOO, once I saw this I knew the dates I was going would be on this list. I’m so sad, lets hope they don’t add a lot more.
Mark says
Well if you are not going to a festival, there is very little reason to go to EPCOT for the foreseeable future.
Pedro says
Disney could have postponed this closing… Epcot is already going through too much refurbishments and not getting any attractive at the moment for guests to visit. Closing Test Track right now leaves Epcot with almost no interesting attractions in my opinion. So sad to hear that :/
Jody says
So it will be closed both for Marathon weekend and Princess Weekend. That’s sad. Lots of people those weekends and Epcot is normally a draw for them. Oh well. Means the other parks will be slammed.
Mr.John says
Test track needed to be maintained for safety measures mechanical and upkeep . The ride needs to look new for the 50 years coming up very soon . Refurb is every few years to keep the ride going so ever one can enjoy it for years to come . It is one of my favorite rides when I come on vacation .😃
Janna says
I’m so bummed about this. This is one of our favorites. We will be there in February so what are the chances they will finish a few weeks earlier than scheduled? Does that even happen sometimes?
Stephanie Ball says
We are visiting in March for the first time! Happy it will be reopened
Ermalu says
It will be OPEN for Marathon weekend (January 9 – 12), but will be closed for the Princess Half Marathon. Software updates to keep things running smoothly for a long time to come is worth a short 6 week break. Please be kind to the Cast Members. They are not the ones who are choosing to do this closure now. Its tough for them too since they will be displaced for those 6 weeks as well.
DFB Sarah says
Janna, anything is possible… but I would probably err on the side of expecting it not to be open.
Andy Henderson says
I am very disappointed with the closure. Coming to Disney World the first week of February and already bummed with all the changes coming to EPCOT. I will still make the best of the situation.
Ken says
I was very disappointed with the last refurb, I cringe to think how bad they can make the ride now. The old test track at least was a teaching/learning test tab environment which was what EPCOT was founded upon. During the early 90’s there was always something new to learn about in Futureworld. The last recap gutted the attraction taking out all of the learning. The attraction was converted from teaching guests how cars and trucks were made, in a Disney style, to a moving thrill ride and nothing more. Please return EPCOT to the teaching/learning lab it once was. I fear for what they will do to Spaceship Earth. Help us Walt… (I think Princess Lea said that)
Braden says
I knew it, everytime we go to Disney Test Track is closed. Have yet to be able to ride it after 3 visits. With everything else going on in Epcot Disney really should have waited till atleast Ratatouille opens up. Just not enough to do there. I was planning to go to Epcot twice in February, but think I’ll change that now.
Ryan says
Why even keep the park open during this time. Its one giant construction zone.
Tara says
Will the ride closure also mean the Test Track store and car showroom will be closed?
