D-Luxe Burger in Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs is the reigning champ of Mobile Order secret menu items, and the hits just keep on coming! We shared our first D-Luxe secret menu item here (plus tips on how to get them for yourself!), and since early-2018, we’ve seen burgers, shakes, and nuggets come and go with some (delicious) regularity.
At present, D-Luxe Burger has eight Mobile Order-only secret menu items (eight!!). The Bacon and Blue Burger and the Strawberry Shortcake Gelato Shake are so satisfying, you may wanna place them on your must-try list!
The Strawberry Shortcake Gelato Shake combines classic flavors in a fun and delicious way. Vanilla gelato is mixed with strawberry sauce that’s full of actual strawberries to drive home that fruity flavor first.
But then they’ve also mixed in toasted marshmallow, milk, and graham crackers for the ultimate strawberry shortcake concoction.
We always keep it real, so we’ll say this: we’re not sure graham crackers and toasted marshmallow have a place in something called “strawberry shortcake.” Where’s the cake? Why the marshmallow? Can we reverse engineer this into a strawberry s’mores because that’s what it seems like?
But we’re not going to quibble because the Strawberry Shortcake Gelato Shake is one of the best strawberry shakes we’ve had. Delightfully fruity, creamy, and a hint toasty — it’s really fantastic. Get this. Call it what you want. 😉
To accompany this sweetness, we Mobile Ordered ourselves the secret menu Bacon and Blue Burger. As per usual, D-Luxe has nailed the burger.
The Bacon and Blue Burger is comprised of onion jam, lettuce, tomato, bacon, and blue cheese atop D-Luxe’s signature blend beef. This is one of the only locations where you can get a quick service burger that isn’t a beefy desert of dryness, and for that, we thank you, D-Luxe.
As for the Bacon and Blue? Words (almost) fail. The flavors all worked really well together. The slightly funky (in a good way) blue cheese comes through, and the slightly sweet onion jam is abundant and addictive. The bacon was crispy and salty.
We’ve loved most of the burgers we’ve had at D-Luxe, with the Southern Classic ranking at the top (see why here!). But the Bacon and Blue has risen all the way to the top. 10/10 would recommend.
We couldn’t keep these two menu items a secret (sorry not sorry). They’re actually both pretty simple — not too many bells and whistles, just classic simple ingredients combined thoughtfully and crafted expertly. And that’s what we want from a burger and a shake: comfort food that takes us back. Speaking of which: take us back!
