Let’s take a trip down to the bayou for another roundup of What’s New at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort! Let The Good Times Roll or as they say, Laissez les bon temps rouler!
This is where we take you on a virtual walk around Disney World’s Port Orleans Resort to spot any and all of the latest food updates, construction, and merch we’ve spotted along the way!
We hope you’re hungry because we have a TON of food updates for you to devour at both Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside.
Food Updates at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort- French Quarter
First up, we’ll be geaux-ing to the French Quarter for updates at two of its dining locations.
Sassagoula
Let’s head to Sassagoula where we noticed they’ve renamed out their previous Bacon Cheeseburger and are now calling it the Applewood Smoked Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger (fancy, fancy!). If you’re trying to resist the sinful Beignet Cheeseburger, there’s now a new plant-based burger option playfully named the Floatworks Burger.
Beignets have been removed from the Sassagoula menu. Don’t worry!! You’ll just have to head to Scat Cat’s Cafe for your fried dough cravings. But if your sweet tooth must be satisfied then and there, look no further than Sassagoula’s Mardi Gras King Cake.
There have been quite a few changes in the “Italian Inspired” department. Vegetable pasta got a rename and is now “Pasta Primavera”. The 3 varieties of Flatbreads (meat lovers, veggie, cheese) have been removed and we now have a Super Slice available. The Cheese or Pepperoni “Fresh Baked Pizzas” are now listed as “Pizza Dinner”.
Mardi Grogs
It looks like Copa Di Vino has replaced Mardi Grogs former Woodbridge wine offerings.
Sadly, all the specialty drinks have gone up in price.
Remember those specialty pretzels we recently told you about? These have been available at this spot for a while now, but this is the first time we’ve noticed a sign! Yep, you can grab a drink and a pretzel in one spot! So if you’re looking to eat your feelings after that $18.00 Hurricane, you can grab a Mickey Pretzel, Jalapeno Pretzel, or Cream Cheese Pretzel here.
We totally picked up a Jalapeno Mickey pretzel. 😉
Food Updates at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort- Riverside
We will now make our way over to Riverside where they, too, didn’t seem spared from menu changes.
Boatwright’s Dining Hall
Some adjustments were made to the Amelia’s Salad at Boatwright’s and it is now Vegan. Seems to be another change in the effort to bringing more plant-based options to Disney theme parks and resorts.
In continuing the trend, a plant-based jambalaya has also been added to the menu.
Riverside Mill
At the Riverside Mill Food Court, the Plant-based burger has been replaced by the Mill Burger. It’s served with steak fries and is priced at $13.99.
The hot dog has been removed and has been replaced by a Classic cheeseburger.
The large pizza has been removed and we are left with the “Pizza Dinner.” Like at French Quarter, the 3 varieties of Flatbreads (meat lovers, veggie, cheese) have also been removed and we now have a Super Slice available.
The Salad & Sandwich station has removed the Garden Salad option but now has an upgraded menu board with additional salads listed.
A little salad never hurts when you’ve been eating all those tasty beignets!
Muddy Rivers
Just as Mardi Grogs has changed from serving a selection of Woodbridge wines, Muddy Rivers Pool Bar joined in on the action and is now selling Copa Di Vino.
Sad news for all you fans looking to guzzle down one of their delicious Hurricanes or an All That Jazz — we found here that menu prices have gone up. Cry Me A River.
We’ll be over here crying into our hurricanes. 😉
Merchandise Updates at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort- French Quarter
We were totally DIGGIN’ The new Rainbow 1970’s Disney Collection we found last week at World of Disney and we’re excited that it is now available at another location!
Jackson Square
It’s time to Do The Hustle straight on over to Jackson Square at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter where we spotted the new Rainbow 1970’s Disney Collection for sale!
If you want to look TOTALLY GROOVY, you may be interested in the Rainbow 1970’s Disney Tank Top for $34.99.

Mathilda says
Disney has replaced all of the flatbreads with giant slices of doughy (too thick) pizza that is GROSS! We had that a few weeks at Pop Century. Why is it that Disney cannot get pizza right in their resorts. Via Napoli is good, and Blaze pizza. Universal’s pizza is delicious. Send one of your chef’s up there to try it at the Adventura Hotel or Louie’s pizzeria in Universal Studios! Keep the PIZZA! Taste worse than Pizza Rizzo!
Kelly Jeanne says
I’m still bummed that Riverside got rid of my favorite burger..it had Pimento Cheese, bacon and a fried green tomato. Hands down one of my fave burgers ever
DFB Sarah says
Kelly Jeanne, if you get over to D-Luxe Burger, they’ve got a Southern Burger with those toppings!
Nicole says
$18 seems a bit steep for mixed drinks. Does it make the dining plan a better value?
DFB Sarah says
Nicole, any time you order something that’s expensive while using the DDP, you’re increasing the value. If a drink is $18, that would help increase the value. 🙂

Mathilda:
Sad part is Disney used to be able to do pizza really well at the Resorts. I remember staying at AS Movies once years ago, and the pizza was awesome. As for Pizze Rizzo, if I wanted to eat DiGornio, i’d buy it at the supermarket.
Caryn says
Ooo, plant-based jambalaya at Boatwrights! Thanks so much for the tip!
We did a cooking demo years ago with a chef at French Quarter. We got recipes for jambalaya and gumbo. We’ve since made a vegan version of the gumbo many times. It’s one of my husband’s favorites.
We never had it at Disney, because gumbo and jambalaya are usually made in advance, so can’t be made vegan. Can’t wait to try it!
DFB Sarah says
Caryn, that sounds terrific! I’ll let the team know for the next time they’re at POR!
