We’re just a few days away from the opening of what promises to be an experience unlike any other! Rise of the Resistance, the flagship attraction for Galaxy’s Edge, is scheduled to open on December 5th in Disney World (January 17th in Disneyland). That’s SO soon, my people!
For a while, Disney has shared that this will be an attraction unlike any other and friends we’re super ready to check it out! Since this attraction is opening VERY soon, we’d thought we’d share all of the NEED to know information about Rise of the Resistance!
Ride Requirements
Note that this attraction is not for everyone! There is a height requirement of 40.” Since this is setting up to be one of the most detailed, immersive attractions ever created it will likely feel VERY real, which could possibly cause it to be frightening for some young Jedi’s. And according to Disney, riders under 7 years of age must be accompanied by someone who is 14 years or older.
If you or a person in your party uses a wheelchair or ECV, please note that guests will have to transfer.
Disney also states that riders should be “free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, and motion sickness.” And that expectant mothers should not ride.
FastPass+ and Single Rider
As was the cast with Smuggler’s Run, there will most likely be no FastPass available at the grand opening of Rise of the Resistance; however, single rider may be an option. While the attraction will likely have a lengthy line, the single rider line (if it is open) should be a great option to help you save a bit of time!
Rise of the Resistance Attraction Details
Aside from the logistics of the attraction, there are several key features of the ride itself that are important to know before you decide to ride!
**NOTE: SPOILERS AHEAD!**
What we know so far is that Rise of the Resistance will feature a lengthy ride time which should be around 18 minutes, there will be 4+ ride systems, and over 300 figures. Your ride vehicle will have two rows of four seats each with their own seat belt.
There should a pre-show that features BB-8, Rey, and other Star Wars characters. Afterward, riders will board the attraction and that’s led by Poe Dameron. Though things will run smoothly for a sec, the First Order will soon derail all of your plans. You will then be pulled into their ship where you will find Stormtroopers, General Hux, and Kylo Ren.
Soon, the Resistance will save you and the day and you will work your way to a few escape pods. The ride will conclude with a thrilling drop. So, if drops are unsettling for you, you might want to sit this ride out.
We still won’t be able to give you a full review of the ride until it opens, but be sure to keep an eye on Disney Food Blog as more information emerges!
