Jambo, DFB fam! We know you’re probably a little tired after watching the BIG GAME last night, so let’s take a moment to escape to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge together!

And while Animal Kingdom Lodge has one of the coolest lobbies to sit and relax in, we’re heading around to the back to check out what’s new at Uzima Springs — Animal Kingdom Lodge’s infamous pool bar!

Uzima Springs has been one of our favorite watering holes at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for a while now. And today, it looks like they’re serving up a new few frosty concoctions like the African Sunset, Flamingo Mule, and Safari Mudslide.

We tried out the African Sunset which features mango rum, African Starr rum, and a mixture of mango and strawberry purée! Plus it comes garnished with a big ol’ juicy strawberry!

In all honesty, we were kinda hoping the drink would be a lot prettier (like the gorgeous sunset we envisioned in our minds with a cool red to orange ombre effect!). Rather sadly, the colors of our mango and strawberry purée blended together at a hastened pace and we were left with a mostly orange-looking slushy.

The flavors of the new African Sunset were really great! We enjoyed the fruitiness of the purée and the sucker punch from the rum! The drink wasn’t too sweet and definitely finished on a high note for us! We enjoy frozen cocktails (especially while lounging poolside) so this drink was a nice change of pace from a standard margarita or daiquiri!
