Welcome back, friends! We’re jogging over to the Magic Kingdom to check out all the new happenings.
The park is hustling and bustling with construction as Disney prepares for the 50th anniversary of the Disney World Resort. There’s a lot to cover today, so let’s get started!
Magic Kingdom Food Update
Main Street Confectionery
Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, people, and Disney is still cranking out some sweet snacks for you to share with that special someone. We popped into the Main Street Confectionery and spotted the Red Velvet Valentine’s Day Cupcakes and Chocolate Covered Strawberries in the case.
See what we thought of this Valentine’s Day Cupcake!
Don’t the strawberries look mega yummy?!
Big Top Treats
We also stepped right up to Big Top Treats, where we found the Valentine’s Day Cupcake, the Valentine’s Day Mickey Rice Krispy Treats, and Bride and Groom Strawberries. We’ll just take a handful of each.
The Valentine’s Day Rice Krispy truly stole our hearts because it’s so colorful and delish.
Get all the Valentine’s Day Krispy Treat deets here!
Joffrey’s Revive in Tomorrowland
Brace yourselves, folks; we noticed that Joffrey’s Revive no longer has the Frozen Cappuccino on the menu, but a new frozen energy booster has taken its place. The Frozen Kona Mocha is officially here and it looks like it’s made its way to every Joffrey’s stand in the Magic Kingdom so far.
Check out what we thought of the Frozen Kona Mocha here!
Golden Oak Outpost
The Golden Oak Outpost also saw a menu shakeup as the milkshakes have been entirely removed from the menu! They are now offering an Odwalla Lemonade and Sweet Tea Slushy.
Here’s what we thought of the new slushy at Golden Oak!
Magic Kingdom Construction Update
Main Street
The scrim over the City Hall construction has now been decorated to look like the facade. We love that Disney takes the extra step to keep some magic alive like this.
Walls have been put up around a small construction area in-between the restrooms and the first aid station next to The Crystal Palace. We don’t know exactly what they’re doing, but we will let you know if learn anything!
Tomorrowland
As we headed into Tomorrowland to check on the big construction happening here, we noticed there were a few light posts that were missing outside of Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. Were they abducted by aliens? 😉
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
It looks like even Star Command Headquarters needs some sprucing up every now and then. Walls have been installed inside the queue for Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. If you’re using a FastPass for this attraction you will no longer get to see Buzz himself!
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe
Over at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, it’s a little less rocking than usual because Sonny Eclipse has left the building once again! He’s probably out on some grand inter-planetary tour, but we hope he makes it back real soon.
Read more about the missing Sonny Eclipse here!
TRON Lightcycle Run
Greetings, programs! With the outside portion of the track complete, most of the work on TRON Lightcycle Run has turned towards getting the show building fully enclosed. 2021 cannot get here soon enough!

Gaston’s Tavern in Fantasyland
An area outside of Gaston’s Tavern has been roped off for some pavement work. Do you think Gaston is going to be repaving the road personally? That would be a sight to see!
Magic Kingdom Merchandise Update
The Emporium
The Cinderella Castle Loungefly Backpack that was first spotted in Disney Springs has now made its way into the Magic Kingdom. You can make this magical backpack yours for $80.
We’re loving that more and more Ink & Paint merch has shown up at the Emporium. If you need help carrying the rest of your swag out, you can get the Cinderella Castle Drawstring Backpack for $24.99.
There’s also a tote bag featuring Sorcerer Mickey for $39.99.
If you want to get more hands-on, there is a 3D wood modeling kit for $24.99.
You can get your little one this colorful dress for $34.99.

Memento Mori
The Haunted Mansion Bow Tie that we found over at Hollywood Studios has started haunting Memento Mori. This ghostly accessory can follow you home for $44.99.
Star Traders
Minnie is always in style and this youth cap for $24.99 is as vibrant as the queen mouse herself.
Big Top Souvenirs
Fantasia is turning 80 this year and if you want to celebrate the musical marvel, you can grab this Sorcerer Mickey Loungefly Backpack for $80. We’re going to have the music stuck in our heads all day now!
Take a closer look at the Sorcerer Mickey Loungfly here!
We also found some more Ink & Paint goodies under the Big Top. There’s a youth hat that the kids can color to their heart’s desire on with markers for $27.99.
We’re always on the lookout for new stylish tumblers to carry our beverage of choice in and we spotted this colorful cup for $14.99.
Check out even more Ink and Paint merch here!

Beth McMeekin says
The Buzz queue has been evolving since November. Walls have gone up and come down and gone up again. The FP queue has changed, too. It now goes around the inside perimeter and goes in the door close to where the Cast Member closes the ride car. It hasn’t gone past Buzz in a couple of months.
DebC says
With all the merchandise from China, I’d be concerned that these items might be contaminated with Coronavirus. I don’t know if the virus can live off the source, but until that is known, I’d bypass all Chinese merchandise. And that means lots of dollars for Disney. Just about everything they sell is made in China.
Beth says
Just about everything sold in the USA is made in China. Don’t go to Wal Mart if you want to avoid Chinese merchandise, and good luck finding anything else anywhere that you need that didn’t come from China. Even some juices are made with fruit concentrates from China.
Beth says
DebC, studies have shown that the virus can live on things for up to a week. Since those shipping containers come by boat & take a few days to get to the US, the virus is likely dead by the time merchandise makes it to shelves. You can buy your Loungefly backpack without worrying you’re going to die.
Stephanie says
Sometimes Disney needs to leave things alone.
I am a big fan of the dolce milkshake with sugared bacon that was sold at the Golden Oak Outpost . . . now it’s gone.
You can buy beer or wine anywhere on property, but heaven forbid – get rid of those wretched milkshakes!
Bunnies says
Unfortunately germs don’t just lay around waiting to die in a week. They multiply at an outstanding rate so I would assume if they remain unchecked their multiple generations will be active way after the week that their parents die. Hopefully most Disney mdse made it here before the outbreak and customs has our back.
